The Open GuardCast

WNO 23 is tomorrow night at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. Will Nicholas Meregali continue his reign of dominance vs. Vagner Rocha? Will Andrew Tackett defeat Tommy Langaker? Will JT Torres overcome the talented Nicky Ryan? I don't know, maybe to all of those. Andrew Tackett joins the show for a great, quick interview going over his recent performance at WNO 20: Night of Champions, where we bested PJ Barch of 10th Planet before falling out of the tournament due to a recurring back injury. We talk about his preparation for the tournament, his performance, what comes next, his injury, and the faith that drives him in life.

I apologize for the bad audio quality, I have tried to fix it in Zoom before but I may have to resort to a different platform.

I go over a lot in this episode. I've been handling a lot of different roles and responsibilities lately what with the website's production, assisting Rachel during her pregnancy, commenating/MC-ing/Interviewing for the IBJJF GP, Booking shows and seminars, getting healthiter, the ministry, the list goes on. Enjoy this rambunctious recap and preview episode of OGC!

This episode is a big update on everything that has happened in the last two weeks. Maybe sometime soon I will have another guest on!

Short and sweet today. I was privileged to attend and commentate ADCC Phoenix with Brandon McAghren. Dan Manasoiu was dominant once again, Benson Henderson made an appearance, it was a grand ol' time.

I also preview WNO which goes down in two days! Meregali vs. Duarte is going to be incredible!

One of my favorite strings of podcasts we've done features this wholesome and dedicatedd man, Paul Tokgozoglu. Focused on mental health and the effect Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can have in a positive way, Paul has been posting and growing quickly and for good reason. I am very excited to see where the podcast goes, it was a huge privlege for me to be able to sit down with him and simply enjoy a couple conversations, one of which you will want to go to his channel to listen to!

Do you agree? TLDW? I could probably stand to make these podcasts shorter but I'm doing my best.

WNO has a great lineup of matches coming into their August 10th. I will put out some more content on that show as it draws nearer, as well as the stunning card at UFC 291. So excited for everything coming in the future!
