The Open Word (Audio)

Do you ever get so overwhelmed by the goodness of God that you just have to tell Him? Maybe that's not really something that you've ever done before. Pastor David wants to encourage us to be glory saying people. If we get into the habit throughout our days of giving glory to God, then joy and peace will follow! Recognizing that every good and perfect gift comes from above is a great habit to adopt. Knowing that we have nothing without the Lord is humbling, but it's a safe place to live our lives!

Have you ever been around anyone that just can't seem to find peace, no matter how hard they try? Maybe you're struggling with that as well. Pastor David wants to encourage us to seek our peace through Jesus. He's the only way that we'll have that true peace that surpasses all understanding. The Lord never promised that we'd have smooth sailing void of storms. But He did promise never to leave us or forsake us, and that He'd take our burden for us. Maybe we just need to ask Him today!

Have you ever stopped to consider what it was like for John to write Revelation? Pastor David wants to inspire us toward such an intimate walk with the Lord. We too can have a close relationship with Him. The ball is in our court. He's always willing to hear from us. He'd never turn us away, or say that He's too busy. Our rapport with God is all dependent on how much we put into it. If we're a Sunday Christian, then we're not going to be close with Him. But being with Him daily brings intimacy.

Many people read the Bible and think it's not a book we're supposed to take literally. This idea is easy to see in many of the seeker friendly type of churches out there today. There are many that won't speak of Hell, or anything that would make their members uncomfortable. Pastor David wants to be sure not to do us a disservice. He wants to teach us the whole truth. If that means making us uncomfortable because we have to face our sin, then so be it. This way we are prepared with the whole truth.

We read about the mark of the beast in the Bible. There are differing schools of thought about what the mark will actually be. Pastor David wants to encourage us all today to be prepared. The way we know when something is a fake is by studying the real thing. So, the way to know the voice of God, as opposed to the mark, is by knowing the Lord intimately. That comes with time spent in His Word daily. This puts us in the practice of hearing His voice, so we won't be fooled by Satan's antics.

You might be out there listening today and have really been struggling with life in general. Maybe things just aren't going your way. You might be trying to pay down debt, and creditors won't stop calling. Maybe you're going through a major loss in your family. Whatever the issue is, Pastor David wants us to all remember the hope we have in Jesus. If you haven't accepted Jesus, now is the time. He's not a promise of smooth sailing for life, but He IS a promise of hope and indescribable peace.

Do you stand for the Truth? In today's message from Pastor David, he teaches that standing for the Truth of The Gospel is necessary, and will almost always cost us something. Throughout history, those who stood for the Truth, sometimes lost their jobs, their relationships, and even their lives. To stand for the Truth, will cost us. However; God promises to always be with us, and that He will never leave us. We need to live our lives, with the knowledge that He is with us; and stand for the Truth!

Do you have a rude neighbor who gets on your nerves? In today's message from Pastor David, he reminds us that before Christ, we too were just like that! Pastor David challenges us to love our neighbors, to bless them, and continue on in doing good works; because that's what Christ did for us. When our neighbor's don't know The Lord, we shouldn't be surprised by their behavior. We should extend the same grace and love that was freely given to us through Jesus Christ, and be a light to the world.

Do you ever feel like it's impossible to live righteously? In today's message from Pastor David, he encourages us that as we submit ourselves to Christ and His teaching, the mission impossible, becomes possible. When we live by His Spirit, and follow His direction, we are able to take on Godly living. As Christians, we are to do away with ungodliness and worldly lusts. We are to live our lives sober minded and zealous for doing His good works. With Christ, we can make this mission possible!

Sometimes we question the relevancy of the Bible. In today's message from Pastor David, he teaches us that The Word is both God and Spirit inspired, and is still relevant in the hearts and minds of people today. That is why it is important that we preach, teach, and study from The Word of God. No other book is more relevant or more transformational than the Bible. The Bible is the living Word, and is sharper than any sword. Get into God's Word this week, and share His Word with others.
