Its football season and Steve and Andy are indifferent!  After saying that they're not really into sports, the guys talk for 15 minutes about it. (in very general terms…) Then we talk about The Trinity War, which is the best crossover series in the New 52.  During the description of this arc, we have trouble remembering the word: CADMUS.  Then we talk about villains month and why the hell they're trying to make the Joker a "likable guy" (and how is the Joker's face not rotten to mush yet?)  Next we talk about the upcoming Batman crossover (again?) that covers 12 issues and we speculate as to what Snyder did to be able to take over everyone else's comics.  Finally, we list our picks for who we would cast as heroes or villains in Comic Book movies.

(but we're not really excited for it either.)  Sean Connery is a creep and we're one of the few people that admit that.  Don't be surprised that we talk about Batman for a while and the upcoming Warner home video films. (Both will be Batman related.) Then we bash Steve Dillon's art once again.

The Optimism Club Vol. 35 (Bear Home Alone)

Andy convinced himself that The Superior Spiderman's premise was too stupid to continue to read every week.  Steve hopes GTA 5 will give him new opportunities to practice begin a psychopath.  The hosts then wonder what would have happened if they ran in to a bear in the woods during their up-north vacation.  This leads to plans for a Home Alone-like situation with bears instead of burglars.  For those of you who were born after 1995, we describe the modern day gold rush that was Pokemon card shopping back in the day.  Steve reviews Low Winter Sun, the new AMC show.  He didn't like it that much.  Tas, sorry we didn't talk more about the Walking Dead in this episode.

Steve's optimism is fading for the future Batman/Superman movie because Warner Bros just apologizes for making super hero movies.  I guess we'll have to put all of our efforts into the Nerdist podcast which has gotten better.  We quickly turn our anger towards Kevin Smith's smoking habits and Ralph Garman's jingles.  Finally we get around to the big fish which is the new season of Breaking Bad.  Spoiler, we're going to talk about spoilers in this.

We start the show by complementing friend of the show, Chris Hardwick.  We talk about stand-up comedy specials and how a guy we know is in one.  Also,  what will Bruce Willis be fighting to save in the next Die Hard piece of shit?  More importantly, of all the unnecessary sequels that could be made, the one that needs to be made the most is What's Eating Gilbert Grape 2 with Johnny Depp and Leo DeCaprio.  We go on to talk about racist cartoons and the horrors of Dr. Seuss's early work.  Why don't more people talk about this?  Finally Steve reviews the Flashpoint Paradox DC Animated movie and long story short, it was just short of sucking.

DC Comics, if you're listening you have to team up your massive evil ape characters.  Andy has a new phone and is slowly becomming addicted to facebook games.  In September, all the DC comics are going to be about villains and we don't understand why.  Steve calls batman '66 "Batman '33"  DC is finally adding a tenth Batman series.  We reminisce about 90's cartoons tempering the effects of violence.  Simpsons may have finally jumped the shark when it crosses over into Family Guy.  Steve uses the bathroom.  Then he criticizes 'This is the End.'  Should Spiderman become gay?  We don't really care one way or the other.  Also, could Wonder Woman be played by a big old dude with a mustache? (It would be better than Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern)
