What feels like fun to you but work to others?
That question stopped me in my tracks.
In this episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I’m doing what I love most: sense-making. After revisiting Atomic Habits by James Clear one simple prompt kept following me around: What feels like fun to you but work to others?
For me, the answer was obvious once I slowed down enough to notice it. I love consuming ideas, connecting the dots, and sharing what’s worth keeping. Books, podcasts, research, conversations; I absorb it all, distill it down, and pass it along to you.
So this year, I’m leaning into that.
In this episode, I share my personal “notes app” takeaways from my favorite manifestation and personal development resources, including reflections on identifying your WHAT, the neuroscience behind manifestation, and why over-consuming self-help can actually lead to action paralysis.
Here is the full article with links to all of the resources mentioned in the episode.

In a world that glorifies hustle and burnout, choosing wellness can feel… well, rebellious.
Huh? Rebellious? Yep! You read that right.
When everyone’s chasing “busy” and “productive,” choosing balance takes courage. It means stepping off the treadmill of “more, faster, better” and deciding that you matter first.
In this episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I get to exhale with Kailin Bouse, a trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher, Reiki Master, and sound therapist, who shares her wisdom on calming the noise, returning to yourself, and learning to live a more present life.

Think of your favorite brand. What feelings come up when you see it?
Now think of your best friend. How do they make you feel?
Both make you feel something.
That’s exactly what your personal brand should do too.
Now, how would that same best friend describe you?
That’s your personal brand. (And yep, you already have one.)
But are you happy with that description? Or is it time for a rebrand?
In this week’s episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I sit down with Matt Schiering, Marketing Maven, CMO, University Professor, Strategy Consultant, Author, and all-around creative spark, to talk about finding your personal brand, showing up authentically, and building a presence that actually feels like you.

Have you ever met someone who always seems to be thriving, no matter their circumstances? They’re resilient, adaptable, and completely unfazed.
These people don’t just have technical skills or an advanced degree. And they’re not simply “lucky” (even if it looks that way).
They’re in on the secret.
People who thrive typically have what are called Meta Skills.
I’ll be honest, the concept was new to me too. That’s why I knew I had to bring on Dr. William Ramey to explain.
In this week’s episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, Dr. Ramey, a former U.S. Army Officer and Bronze Star recipient, corporate leadership coach, keynote speaker, and Executive MBA Adjunct Professor at Drexel University, breaks down how we can build and strengthen our meta skills (hint: practice, practice, practice) to move from simply surviving to thriving.
We all chat about living in alignment, finding your why, and other goodness!

You know how this month we’ve been talking about wellness, adopting an athletic mindset, and training for life?
Well, this week I want to zoom in on what might just be the most important piece of all: the finish line. Because let’s be real, how can you train with intention if you don’t know what you’re aiming for?
Here’s the thing: I’ve got backup. Right on cue, The Mel Robbins Podcast dropped what I truly believe is one of the best episodes yet, an incredible conversation with creativity expert Debbie Millman about designing the life you want!
Professor Millman shares a step-by-step process for what I like to call “finding your finish line,” and it feels like a treasure map guiding you toward the kind of life that’s been waiting for you all along.
This week’s episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect is short, because I want you to give it a quick listen and then head straight over to The Mel Robbins Podcast. Listen to the conversation, download the workbook, and walk through the process for yourself. Then come back here next week and we'll celebrate together.
And then? Come back to me next week to celebrate.

We’re all athletes. Maybe not on the field, but in the arena of life. Whether you’re sitting on the sidelines, overtraining, or somewhere in between, welcome to the team. In this episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I had the joy of chatting with Jerry Moyer, a former professional soccer player, college coach, author, and performance expert, about what it really means to show up as your best self.Jerry’s been on his personal improvement journey for decades, and he’ll be the first to tell you… he doesn’t have it all figured out. But at 62, he genuinely loves life. Why? You'll find out. Jerry shares how he reframed what it means to train for life—shifting from chasing peak performance to embracing optimal performance.
Jerry is the author of Time to Fly: Finding the Courage to Take Flight, 32–0: Lessons Learned from an Undefeated Season, and most recently Ed & 8: Cleared for Takeoff.
Across his books, you’ll notice a common theme: when you’re not sure what to do, just fly.

You’re back with me this week!
Is September the new January? It sure feels like it.
Even Good Morning America is talking about how Labor Day, back-to-school season, and the end of summer vacations spark that itch to reset, revisit goals, and finish the year strong.
But here’s the real question: what happened to those shiny New Year’s goals? Still on track? Somewhere in between? Totally out the window?
Exhale. This one’s for my fellow Type A, high-achieving go-getters… and also for my friends who feel a little off the rails. Why do we make it so hard? It doesn’t have to be.
That’s why I created (and tested on myself first) the “33 For Me” Challenge. It’s not about chasing unrealistic extremes, it’s about building sustainable habits around the 5 Fs:
✨ Fuel → how you nourish your body
✨ Flow → how you move daily
✨ Find → where you notice joy
✨ Focus → what you capture in writing
✨ Feel → how you check in with yourself
On this week’s episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I’m sharing the full story of how I went from rinse-and-repeat burnout cycles to designing a 33-day system that gave me energy, joy, and consistency.
So if you’re ready to reset in a way that’s sustainable, simple, and designed for the life you’re already living... let’s do the dang thing!
Disclaimer: I’m sharing what worked for me, but remember, we’re all different. This isn’t medical advice, just my own experience. Always check in with your body and trusted professionals.

You don’t have to leave your hometown to make it happen. In this episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I had the pleasure of yapping with the vibrant Amanda Weron, an entrepreneur who decided to stay and thrive. Amanda is the owner of Hue Hair Lounge in Mountain Top, PA. But it’s a competitive landscape. But it’s risky. But how will you manage that and be a mom? But, but, but… Amanda heard it all (mostly from her own inner voice!)
BUT she decided to stay and do it anyway. Amanda shares how self-awareness, confidence, mentorship, and the advice to ‘shoot for the stars’ are guiding her journey to building an empire. Oh! And she’s doing it all while being a proud mama of two.

In this week’s episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I’m taking on a big question: with confidence in the degree declining, why are people still choosing college?
After speaking at an open house, I couldn’t stop thinking about the headlines that paint such a grim picture of higher education and what the real value of a 4-year degree is today. In this special short “audiobook-style” episode, I read my latest article, sharing my own perspective on the timeless skills, opportunities, and personal growth that higher ed can provide.
And, I’ll read you my love letter to higher education.
Happy new school year, friends. Let’s make it a good one. ✨

James (Jamie) Monahan is on a mission to turn his pain into purpose.
A little over five years ago, he was unemployed, on the brink of homelessness, and in the depths of his addiction. Now? He’s about to celebrate five years of sobriety this December. He’s an award-winning entrepreneur, working full-time, and a father-to-be.
Oh, and the journal he kept in rehab? It became his business plan.
Feeling inspired yet? Same.
In this episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I had the absolute joy of sitting down with Jamie. He opens up about his road to recovery, the power of asking (and receiving) help, and how he transformed pain into passion with his start-up, BedRez. We talk about why it’s so important to help yourself first, actually celebrate your wins (yes, you’re your biggest supporter), and his mission to break the stigma around addiction.
