The Organic View

There are many people that live in the city or even in the suburbs that talk about escaping their crowded community for the charmed life of the country, with the intentions of having their own “organic” farm or simply changing things in their own home environment. While this may seem like the thing to do, especially since there is so much need for each and every person to play their part, it is not necessarily the easiest transition to make. Especially when it comes to farming, it is not that simple. There are no Farming 101 college courses  or single reference point that can tell you all that you need to know as far as how to manage all of the responsibilities farm life requires. However, there is a great deal of information that is available as far as different options for creating your own sustainable and earth friendly environment. The main thing is to make a decision and learn as much as you can before you take the plunge. Even if you don’t necessarily want to have a farm but still want to do something as simple as creating a compost bin or start a vegetable garden, you still need the right information so that your time and money are well spent. In Urban Homesteading, authors, Rachel Kaplan and K. Ruby Blume discuss everything you really need to know from how to make a compost toilet, starting a container garden, recycling grey water to 31 uses for Beeswax and more. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Rachel Kaplan and Ruby Blume about creating your own Urban Homestead!

Many people receive all sorts of electronic gadgets as gifts. In today's world, is it possible to avoid technology? We use it to make our coffee, text messages to friends, microwave food and work on laptops. We're being zapped! Today 84 % of Americans own a cell phone, 89 million of us watch TV beamed in by satellite and we can't sip a cup of coffee at our local cafe without being exposed to Wi-Fi. The very electronic innovations that have changed our lives are also exposing us, in ways big and small, to an unprecedented number of electromagnetic fields. Invisible pollution surrounds us 24/7, interrupting our bodies' natural flow of energy. And for some, that pollution has reached the point of toxicity, causing fatigue, irritability, weakness, and even illness. But we don't have to simply surrender. Ann Louise Gittleman brings forth the latest research into electromagnetic fields to create this groundbreaking guide for every citizen of the wireless age. With the proactive, levelheaded approach that has made her one of our most respected health experts, she not only clarifies the risks but also offers specific, step-by-step information for how anyone can minimize them. From where you place your sofa to when you use your cell phone to what you eat for dinner. Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer talks to Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman to discuss her best-selling book, Zapped.Today’s show is sponsored by Austria’s Finest Naturally Authentic Pumpkin Seeds and Pumpkin Seed Oil from the Steiermark available at OrganicUniverse.com. Should a chemical that has been removed from the market by EPA allowed to be sold then re-enter the market under a different name? This seems to be a common pattern in several industries. Recently, Aldicarb which is the active substance in the pesticide Temik was banned by EPA in 2010, requiring an end to distribution by 2017. According to PANNA’s Dirty Dozen, it is one of the most deadly pesticides ever invented. It is coming back as AgLogic 15G next year.

In this week’s segment of The Neonicotinoid View, host June Stoyer and Tom Theobald talk about how chemicals are removed from market, sold then re-enter the market under a new name. Also joining the discussion is Judge Mary Nash Stoddard who is a veteran expert on aspartame and other artificial sweeteners.

“The Neonicotinoid View”, which is produced by The Organic View Radio Show is unique, weekly program that explores the impact of neonicotinoids on the environment. Tune in each week as June and Tom explore the latest research and news from the beekeeping community.

Thanks to extensive urban development over the last several decades, there has been a battle for land between homeowners and nature. Many people in suburban areas often complain about rabbits, bears, coyotes and other wildlife invading their back yards. Unfortunately, these beings have no other place to go as their home in the wilderness has been destroyed. To boot, the toxic garden chemicals homeowners apply often contain neonicotinoids such as imidacloprid and clothianidin which will also kill pollinators such as butterflies and honeybees. As a result of this ecological imbalance, many people are turning to naturescaping to curtail this loss of habitat. Naturescaping is a method of landscaping that allows people and nature to coexist. By incorporating native plants, conserving water and reducing chemical use, you can effectively attract insects, birds, and other beings which will also contribute to the health of fresh water while creating a backyard wildlife sanctuary. Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer talks to Karen Bussolini, who is a garden photographer, writer, lecturer and garden coach. Karen's latest work can be seen in the book, The Naturescaping Workbook by Beth ODonnell Young. Karen will discuss how you can incorporate naturescaping principals into your own backyard! She is a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional. Today's show is sponsored by Eden Foods the most trusted name in certified organic clean food! It is believed that personal fitness is one of the keys to a long, happy and healthy life. Physical fitness certainly provides increased energy, vitality, strength and flexibility, which also improve an individual’s mental fitness. An increased level of concentration is experienced, many people have more stamina and a greater readiness to meet life’s challenges.  These are achieved through consistent exercise and healthy life practices rather than through “quick fixes/fad diets.” Fitness is a result of personal congruence, respecting the value of the body, and the mind and body link.   Listen to this segment of The NLP View Radio Show, as host, Donna Blinston, R.N. talks to Psychotherapist, Paul Andrew, a Master Practitioner of NLP, clinical Hypnotherapist and Physical Training Instructor. Paul will discuss how he uses Psychotherapeutic patterns and NLP in 'Breakthrough Bootcamps' and fitness sessions for ecological, holistic change.

What may appear to be a good deal can also be hazardous to your health, exploit your identity and possibly jeopardize your life! In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Mr. Bruce M. Foucart, Director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center, Homeland Security Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement about what many consumers need to know about what the real cost of buying counterfeit goods means to the economy, national security and to your health!
