Have you ever been asked, “If there’s a good God, why is there so much death and suffering?”
Well, Genesis tells us. God created a perfect world. Then he gave the first man, Adam, a command and told him the penalty for disobedience was death. Adam chose to disobey, and his actions brought death and suffering into creation.
The bad things of this world aren’t God’s fault. Death and suffering exist because of Adam’s sin, and our continued sin. But we can look forward to the day when they will be gone—when Jesus restores creation to what it once was and all who trust in Jesus’ death and resurrection will live with him forever.
