It’s that time of year! The holidays are in full swing, but have you ever stopped to wonder how it all came to be? Where did Santa come from? There is a darker side to our beloved holiday traditions. Today we are going back in time to explore the inspiration for Jolly Ol’ St. Nick and his evil counterpart, Krampus! Let’s kick off this season with a little holiday history. For many, coal in their stockings was not the punishment for being a naughty boy or girl. They had to worry about beatings, death, and eternal damnation. Christmas has come a long way! And by the way, Happy Krampus Day!
