Tony Roberts and Katrina Pope stop in to introduce themselves the week of their DC Improv debuts. We start out talking about Detroit, and we somehow get around to "Naked and Afraid" and beauty tips. Put funny people in a room together and these things happen.
Get to know 'em, then come to see 'em September 11-13.
Greg Proops returns to the club on September 27 to record another episode of "The Smartest Man Alive." You can get psyched by listening to this throwback episode of our podcast -- an interview from when Greg headlined the club in 2009.
Rob Cantrell is a DC native, and on September 16 he comes home to headline the DC Improv for our "Hopped Up" DC Brau debut party. On a swing through town, he stops in to talk about DC in the '70s and '80s, share a few drinking stories and reflect on his run on the very first season of "Last Comic Standing." A great conversation with a great guy.
Have a listen, then check out the show on 9/16!
Ron Funches (headlining August 28-30) is a star of "Undateable" and an unstoppable force on "@midnight." We've got him in our lounge talking about video games, wrestling, his famous laugh and a bunch more things.
Also joining us: Your host for the week, Omar Shaukat. Omar started out doing comedy in DC. Now he makes his home in NYC, where he often collaborates on podcasty type stuff with Big Jay Oakerson (another of our headliners).
LET'S GET IT ON.
Tammy showed up on the national comedy radar after her top-five finish in the second season of "Last Comic Standing." Since then, she started a family and moved to Pennsylvania ... while still working as one of the most entertaining touring headliners in the country.
We talk about her Italian family, her son, how she got hooked up with Jenny McCarthy's "Dirty Sexy Funny" tour, and (naturally) furry conventions. Check out the interview, then see Tammy at the Improv this weekend (August 7-9).
Sean is doing comedy seven nights a week in DC. As the guy behind Underground Comedy, he's organizing shows and perfomring all around town. August 6-9 he emcees at the DC Improv for the first time, opening up for Tammy Pescatelli.
We talk about his pre-comedy desire to save the world, his super-easygoing demeanor, and (just for fun) the fact that he used to have seizures. Get to know your local comedy scene!
The world's greatest comedic hypnotist is back in town to headline the club July 23-26. We talk about better parenting through hypnosis and the very distressing drinking games Flip plays with his wife. Then we kick around some dream suggestions for Donald Trump and a few other people in the news. Another fun visit from a DC Improv favorite.
Ari grew up in Silver Spring, then took his life a whole new direction by moving to LA and deciding to dedicate himself to stand-up. Between travel, comedy and drugs, he's had amazing experiences, lots of which he now shares on stage -- and on his Comedy Central storytelling series "This is Not Happening."
Hanging out in the Improv lounge, we talk about what it was like being poor, his early years at The Comedy Store and what it's like producing TINH.
Ari headlines the Improv July 17-19!

Seaton Smith left the green pastures of Washington to make it big in comedy world. And it worked! He's all over the New York scene and he starred in the Fox sitcom "Mulaney." But you can go home again! This Thursday (July 16) he's at the Improv recording his first comedy album. Ready for the hard sell? GO!
In this very NPR-ish episode, we're talking about the science of teaching the art of comedy. First we chat with Martie Cook, the woman behind the new Comedic Arts major at Emerson College in Boston. Then we've got Chris Coccia in studio with his perspective from teaching the DC Improv's stand-up comedy class.
And don't forget, you can catch Chris featuring on shows with John Witherspoon July 9-12.
