Samantha Noelle, host of the Overcome Her podcast, explains how women often self-sabotage right as business starts improving, not from laziness, but because the nervous system reads success as unsafe and triggers fight, flight, freeze, or fawn behaviours like control, anxiety-busyness, procrastination, or people-pleasing and undercharging.
She links this to conditioning, childhood stress and trauma, money messaging, epigenetics, and centuries of women being taught to stay small, plus the idea of a “financial thermometer” set point that can cause backsliding through burnout, illness, or chaos.
She shares tools to regulate and rewire: belly breathing (6-6-6-6), a visualization to integrate feared success, EFT/tapping, and believable affirmations, along with daily self-observation, journaling prompts, and identifying what you gain from chaos versus regulated success so you can safely hold expansion.
