This Friday's episode is all about relocating with kids! There is a lot of information out there about retiring in Panama, but not a lot about relocating here as a young family. We wanted to share our experience thus far moving to a brand new country with three young kids.
We discuss why we decided on the timing of our move; a bit about what is was like traveling internationally with young kids; the transition period after first arriving here; access to "kid's stuff" like food, diapers, supplies, etc; putting our oldest son in public school; doing EVERYTHING together; fun stuff we do with our kids here; how they are enjoying being here; and more.
If you have young kids and are considering relocating internationally, specifically Central America, then this episode is for you!

Today we're releasing a special episode pertaining to current events here in Panama in October/November 2023. The Panamanian President renewed a mining contract of an open pit copper mine on October 20, 2023, and since then nation wide protests and road blocks have gotten more and more intense. Starting Monday, October 23, a large portion of the PanAmerican Highway has been COMPLETELY BLOCKED with no traffic coming or going.
In our conversation, we do not go into a ton of details about the politics of the situation, but mostly share our experience driving through the country of Panama to get home while encountering multiple road blocks and protests, finding food and resources when no supplies are being delivered because trucks can't get through, and discuss what we've seen throughout these 10 days of road blocks.
Today's episode is longer than usual because this is a big deal in Panama right now.

This week's episode we share all about our weekend trip to Boquete, Panama. Boquete is up in the highlands of the Chiriqui province of Panama. It is a coffee hot spot, so we of course drank lots of coffee, tried Geisha coffee at a local cafe, and visited a gorgeous organic coffee farm. We talk about our lovely AirB&B, fun places we went with the kids, our new favorite diner, the easy drive there, and how much we enjoyed the Boquete area.

In this episode we talk about one of our favorite topics: FOOD! We discuss our eating habits & preferences back home in California and how we've had to adjust a bit after moving here to Panama. We talk about restaurants we love here, local access to food, new foods we've tried, what we can find in the grocery stores, and how we always try to find the freshest, local, in season foods. We've started eating a lot more seafood since we're close to the ocean, and we're loving it; beef here is different and we talk about that. And lots more!

Episode 2 & 3 is our conversation about why and how we chose Panama as the country we wanted to relocate to. We discuss other countries we looked into, why we specifically didn't choose them, and then multiple reasons why we chose Panama. We talk about our first trip to Panama to visit and how much we loved it; how we love the rural communities here; and how you can almost find any lifestyle you want here: city life, farm life, community life, mountain life, hermit life- it's all possible!
