EP11: Case Study- The Importance of a CFO with Danielle O'Conner

“If you don’t know where you’ve been and where you are, it’s really hard to figure where you’re going, and how you’re going to get there. You can’t course correct if you don’t know where your course is taking you.” - Danielle O’Conner

Hey, CEOs! You do not want to miss this episode of The Part Time CEO. If you’re like me, keeping up with your business finances can be daunting to say the least. It can be so easy to ignore the books, and hope they stay in the black. Join me in a priceless conversation with Danielle O’Conner, my Virtual CFO. She has revolutionized my view of finances and has a wealth of knowledge to share. We spend the first half of the episode discussing her work as my CFO. In the second half, she shares her experience as one of my clients, and how her work with me has transformed her business, increased her value, and helped her to recognize the worth of her offer.

“Just because you have a lot of money coming in, doesn’t mean that it’s yours.” - Janelle

Often we have a general idea of the finances of our business. If you have a steady stream of clients, chances are, you are doing well. However, Danielle shares that if you aren’t keeping a close eye on the numbers, there’s a really good chance that you are losing money. Hidden, unnecessary expenses could be taking a chunk out of your profit margin, without you even knowing! Furthermore, if you haven’t taken the time to analyze your costs per client, you may be undervaluing your services. Listen in to hear more about the importance of allocating your funds, and how a CFO can be invaluable when it comes to optimizing your tax situation.

“The biggest mistake business owners make with their finances is ignoring them.”

    - Danielle O’Conner

In the second half of this episode, Danielle shares how the work she did with me took her from “bookkeeper” to Virtual CFO. It is so crucial to identify your target client, and reconcile that ideal with the clients you currently take on. Danielle realized that her low price point was attracting clients who were unwilling to recognize the value that she offered. As she gained clarity on her ideal client, her offer, and how to present the offer clearly with confidence, she has recouped her investment, and then some!

Only good things can come from having someone take a bird’s eye view of your business. Whether you’re feeling off-track with your finances, or you’re realizing that perhaps you haven’t been positioning your offer at the price that it is worth, bringing others around you to support you in your entrepreneurial endeavors will make all the difference!

  • EP10: Live Coaching Call with Sarah Nolan

“My work with clients is really about using the power that they have inside of them to create the shifts that resolve the biggest problems that they’re facing. We get to the root of it and we clear it out.” - Sarah

Hey, CEOs! This week on The Part-Time CEO podcast, you’ll join in on a coaching call with Sarah Nolan, owner of Vibrant Life Natural Healing. Sarah helps business owners identify and uproot sources of stress, helping them be rejuvenated to live their lives more fully. Through this process, her clients are able to sleep better, lose weight more easily, and find relief from headaches and migraines. Sarah offers three different levels to her program, and has recently been expanding her offer, and giving an incredible discount for clients interested in joining for a trial period.

”If people have lifetime access to a program, they aren’t going to be in a hurry to make an additional investment… there needs to be a time limit.”

Sarah’s main goal for our conversation was to strategize a way to increase enrollment and retention in her Miracle 90 Program. Her primary pain point was her clients’ inability to provide the initial investment needed for the program. This led to the introduction of a trial period. We discovered some adjustments that could be made to enhance client experience and help ensure that clients who joined the program would move forward in the process, instead of settling for less than the full potential of the Miracle 90.

“The moment a trial client comes into the program, there should be a follow up call scheduled for a fixed date.”

We assess each portion of Sarah’s program, making adjustments necessary to help increase client retention, and ensure that clients will progress to the higher ticket offers that give greater value to the clients. Listen in to learn more about a successful onboarding strategy, how to successfully navigate trial offers, gathering effective feedback, and managing clients whose trial period has expired.

If you are interested in learning more about Sarah and her services, visit her Vibrant Life Natural Healing website, or join the Recharge Facebook group.

  • EP9: The 4 Types of Productivity with Pamela Lewerenz

“Productivity is not just doing things just to get them done. It is about doing the right things at the right time so that you can achieve maximum efficiency for the effort that you’re putting in.” - Pamela

When we think of productivity, often we think of getting the most work done in the least amount of time, at times attempting to blaze through to-do lists at the expense of our sanity. This week on The Part-Time CEO, Pamela Lewerenz shares how we can leverage our unique traits to be more successful. Pamela, known as the “Brick Wall Coach,” is a business coach whose mission is to coach ambitious entrepreneurs to run successful and sustainable businesses. She has been in the coaching business since 2014 and has worked with coaches, consultants, professionals in the financial services field, the arts, healthcare professionals, entertainers, and politicians.

”A lot of times we set up our lives in a way that is directly contradictory to our productivity type.” - Janelle

There are Four Traits of Productivity. While most of us can identify with some of each trait, you’ll probably identify most strongly with one. To get the most accurate idea of your productivity type, you’ll want to look not only at the present in your business, but how you run your life in general, and the tendencies of your family of origin. These traits include the Prioritizer, the Planner, the Arranger, and the Visualizer. Which one do you think you are?

“Everybody has the same 24 hours, but you want to make sure you’re working to peak efficiency and not focusing on the tasks you’re not really in love with, or you know other people can handle for you so you can… do those things you have to do.” - Pamela

You are unique in how you run your business. Being productive is not just getting through a to-do list, but being mindful in the balance of work and rest. A lot of times it’s really easy to get lost in the wave of stuff we are inundated with each day. Listen in to this episode to learn more about yourself, the pitfalls in productivity that are common to individuals who identify with your Type, and how you can optimize the hours in your day.

  • EP8: What’s in a Name? Why I Call You CEOs

”You have a right to stand proudly among the ranks of entrepreneurs as a boss, not as a cutesy ‘Girls Playing Business’ club.”

Don’t get me wrong. I love the cutesy business names like “boss babes” and “mompreneur” as much as the next girl. But when it comes to business, and this podcast, I take the title “CEO” seriously. And you should too. This week on the Part-Time CEO podcast, I’m sharing with you the importance of the title CEO, and encouraging you to step fully into the role you have earned as an entrepreneur.

    “Names give value.”

We have a responsibility as women entrepreneurs to take ownership of our title, and see ourselves the way we want others to see us. Women make up 40-50% of all entrepreneurs, and yet we only account for 4% of the total income. The only limits in our success are the ones we place on ourselves!

“You are a CEO. Remember who you are, and take action.”

There are certain action steps that all successful CEOs put into practice in their business. They know their finances, and continually invest in their business. CEOs never stop improving and gathering feedback, and they plan and execute investment in personal development. Listen in to learn more, and start taking charge of your role as CEO. You are a boss. Period.

  • EP7: Your Energy Body & Attracting Abundance with Malorie Nicole

“When I quieted myself enough to stop trying to figure out the outside solution to what was going on with my body, I found that my body was trying to tell me what was going on. My symptoms were the little inclinations into my body trying to get me to listen a little more closely.” - Malorie

This week on the Part-Time CEO, we are chatting with one of my favorite people! Malorie Nicole is a Holistic Business Coach who helps entrepreneurs remove the blocks that prevent them from stepping into the next level of profit and fulfillment. She shares her own journey to finding wellness and abundance in all areas of her life.

So often we can compartmentalize our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. However, all aspects of self are more intricately connected than we could even imagine. At times physical symptoms can be manifestations of self-limiting beliefs and mental blocks. What is your body trying to tell you?

“When you allow yourself to do the mindset work and take the action, that’s when the results are bigger and greater than you ever could have even possibly imagined because you’re integrating all pieces of yourself.” - Malorie

One of Malorie’s main focus in work with clients is to educate them about the presence of our energy bodies. The energy we wear around us emits frequencies of magnetic pulses. Our frequency levels affect our physical, mental, and emotional state. Mindset blocks can repel abundance from our lives, and when we live in a constant state of being overwhelmed, we project scarcity energy into all that we do. This may feel discouraging, but the incredible thing about our energy body is that we possess the power to change our frequency and make way for abundance to flow into our lives.

“Taking action brings true fulfillment and aligns us with our purpose.” - Janelle

CEOs, both Malorie and I understand how stressful and overwhelming it can feel to run a business. As we discuss our own experiences building something that feels bigger than we are, we share some helpful steps to move past blocks and start finding abundance. One of the most valuable things that you can do today is to start creating sacred space for yourself to maintain a high level of success and keep your energy frequency high. Listen in to learn more about identifying your blocks, and getting them out of the way, so you can experience the life that you have worked so hard for!

“Shifting out of the low-level mindset will shift you into the vibration to attract the abundance that you want” - Nicole

Some Topics we talk about in this episode:
