“It’s about the messaging that we deal with. It’s about telling a story that the customer can see themselves benefiting from.” - Jeff Moore
Grab a pen and paper and be ready to take some notes. This episode of The Part-Time CEO is FULL of wisdom and insight from my friend and business mentor, Jeff Moore. Jeff is the Director of Seafood and Business Development at Global Protein Group and the former President of International Pacific Seafoods Inc. He is the co-founder of The Network, a world-class association of successful entrepreneurs. “How you do one thing is how you do everything. I don’t believe in balance, I believe in harmony. When you’re in harmony, you’re inclusive of everything around you. Balance says ‘I’m taking away from here, to give here,’ instead of ‘let’s see how we can all do this together.’”
- Jeff Moore
In this episode, we discuss human behavior, why clarity is so important in business, and how to ask questions in a way that makes you a trusted mentor for life. The ultimate strategic position in business is to become the go-to person for education and information in the form of options, opportunities, and offers.
“We all share the exact same frustration at our core - we don’t feel understood.” - Jeff Moore

“There are universal laws that control how humans work. Humans have a very limited capacity. We need just as much rest and leisure time as we do work and stress.”
In this week’s episode of The Part-Time CEO we are discussing the balance of work and rest. The truth is, you have a finite amount of energy. All humans do. Many people value “grit” and glorify the those who are martyrs in their job, especially when working a job that serves others. However, order to have sustainable success in business and life, we have to change the way we talk about work, and the way we structure work for ourselves.
“Willpower is a muscle, and it needs rest. We can push it. We can use it up. Eventually it will collapse. It needs rest to recuperate.”
The first concept important to remember when learning about the laws of how humans work is that willpower is expendable energy, it is a muscle. If it becomes exhausted, it won’t be able to power you through stressful moments. It is important for us to learn how to be good stewards of our willpower. This is dependent on our ability to create healthy boundaries around our relationships, work, and our time.
”Many people are choosing to leave the workforce to go into business for themselves to choose how and when they work. The problem is, because dysfunctional work culture is ingrained in our psyche, we often end up establishing similar or worse work schedules for ourselves. ”
The second concept to remember is that people needed to be treated well. We need to have a sense of control. So many people feel guilty if they make a lot of money, working fewer hours than is “expected.” It is time to set aside the expectations that we place on ourselves, because of what is considered normal. Listen in to learn more about how to take charge of your time, and find the balance between work and rest.

“All of your clients are just asking a very simple question, can you get me from point A to point B, and do you have the proof?”
This week on The Part-Time CEO, we are debunking a popular sales myth that may be keeping you from a higher conversion rate. If you’ve been around the block in business, you’ve heard that an effective sales strategy is dependent on the, “know, like, trust factor.” It’s possible that your focus on helping potential clients to “know” and “like” you might be wasting time, money, and pushing your leads to other entrepreneurs.
”People need to feel two things. They need to feel that you can get them over the bridge of where they are now to where they want to be. Even more importantly, they need to feel that they are important to you and to your company.”
On this episode, we’ll go through some examples, disproving the “know, like, trust” factor. If those aren’t the secrets for effective sales, what are they? We’ll discuss some effective strategies for building client trust, and providing actionable intel that gives clients a reason to choose your service or product. Listen in to find out more!
“Clients want access and communication, and that's what business owners forget. They're so busy. They're focusing so hard on nurturing new leads and client acquisition that they are forgetting about and ignoring the feel factor. People need to trust you. They need to like you. And they need to feel that you value them as a person and that you can get them to where they need to go. ”
