When our days are filled with family, responsibilities, ministry, and so much more does finding rest seem like an impossible dream? God's plan for us includes rest. In every season of our lives. In this podcast, we continue the Psalm 23 series with "Finding Rest", including some practical ways to build the principle of rest into every day. You can listen to the first two episodes of the Psalm 23 here: Episode 005 - Introduction and Episode 006 - I Have Everything I Need. I talk about these in depth on the podcast, but here is a quick list!
8 Practical Ways to Find Rest In The Midst of Busy
1. Turn off all electronics. I know! I know. Easier said than done. But try it! Even if it's just for a short period of time.
2. Exercise. I don't even want to mention this. But it's true. Exercise will leave you feeling rested and refreshed! And help you sleep better resulting in MORE rest!
3. Check something off your to-do list. Complete one of those nagging to-dos on your list and let your mind have some rest!
4. Choose your top 3. What three things can you do at the beginning of the day to bring a sense of rest?
5. Plan getaways. This is a tough one, I know. Even if you only have half a day, make plans to break away from your daily schedule and do something fun.
6. Find pockets of rest in your day. Set your timer for 5 minutes and just close your eyes. Or get outside and walk around and breathe!
7. Stop running so much. Prayerfully consider what activities you can eliminate to bring more rest to your life.
8. Find a new hobby or reignite an old one. Knitting. Photography. Reading. Crafts. Choose a hobby and make time for it! Links I Mentioned Leading & Love It - closed Facebook for pastor's wives Freedom App - block internet, apps, and websites. Your Thoughts How do
you find rest in the midst of the busy? Correction In listening to the podcast, I realized I said "moms born in prison." NOPE. That should have been "Babies born to moms in prison." :-) Subscribe to The Pastors' Wives Podcast
