In conjunction with UN Women’s 16 days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, the Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) has launched its Girls Takeover! Campaign. Girls Takeover! is a girls' network set up by the Women's Aid Organisation to provide a platform for girls aged 12 to 18 to talk about issues they face.
The Pendulum Show has chosen to shed light on the issue of stalking and is grateful for two brave young women, Tasya & Qhalida to speak on their experience of being stalked. Tan Heang-Lee, WAO's Communications Officer also joins us to dissect the issue and answer a few key questions:
What constitutes stalking?
What are the acts of stalking?
Does the Domestic Violence Act sufficiently protect victims of stalking?
What are the steps that can be taken to help mitigate the issue?
How can men play a role in advocacy and to aid in solving the issue?
