In this episode, I’m joined by Michelangelo Chiecchi for a wide-ranging conversation about what doctors don’t tell you, and why so much of modern healthcare, in our view, is built around managing symptoms instead of understanding causes. We talk about my long-running critique of the institutional systems of law, education, policing, and medicine, and then go deep into Michelangelo’s philosophy that symptoms are messages rather than enemies. Drawing on his own story of illness, recovery, and decades of teaching, he explains why he moved from talking about “natural health” to “natural life,” and why he believes real healing begins when we change the habits, stressors, and assumptions that led the body to react in the first place.
We also explore fear, pain, cold exposure, reflexology, emotional patterns, and the role of food in shaping both physical and mental balance. I share my own experiences of rejecting quick-fix medicine, and Michelangelo lays out his core idea that healing equals sickness plus understanding. We close by discussing plant-based eating, the emotional and physiological effects of animal foods, and where listeners can catch us next, including the Weekend Truth Festival in Wrexham. Michelangelo will also be back next time to continue the conversation with what dentists don’t tell you.
