Late Nights at Blockbuster

Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

We’re finally wrapping up the Hunger Games movies this week. It might set a record for how quickly we tangent and how often we tangent into full blown side discussions that have absolutely nothing to do with this movie – which tells you a lot about some of our feelings for this one. But come along with the Star Squad as we mop up the final installment from this series.

We've hid the midseason mark of the NFL Season and so it's time to update our rankings and discuss the first half of the season.

We are taking you out to the black in our newest episode. We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Serenity and combining it with a look back at the TV show that spawned it, Firefly. We talk through the history of both and what could have been had the TV show not been cancelled. We talk through our favorite characters and episodes along side a recap of the movie. It's not quite a Late Nights at Blockbuster and more in line with a Corner Booth at Rex's with full spoilers.

We're 4 weeks into the season and it's time to update our tiers - and there is plenty of movement in our rankings.

Late Nights at Blockbuster

Our newest episode is a twofer! Late Nights at Blockbuster for Tangled and a Disney Princess Draft. If you listened to our Disney song draft you'll know that we hold Tangled in very high regard. We discuss how this pulled Disney out of their musical slump and the lengthy development process it survived. After Tangled, we jump into our Disney Princess draft with no rules, just vibes. Would you like to know which Disney Princess Troy compares to Rasheed Wallace? We really run off the rails when Byers pushes Troy after that craziness to compare his draft to his least favorite team of all time the 2004 Detroit Pistons. We've got record predictions, playoff and Super Bowl picks, season award picks, and as always we put all of the teams into our tiers. Troy was super boring and played it safe with his season awards, while Byers made things a little more interesting.Intro/Outro music by friend of the podcast Seth Gilbertson. Corner Booth at Rex's

Our newest Corner Booth at Rex's is on James Gunn reboot of Superman. The movie is packed to the gills with characters, creatures, and crazy concepts. Come alongside us as we discuss all the good, the bad, and the very weird of the movie that will reboot the entire DCU. Byers makes Troy a little sad with one of his criticisms of the film as it was one of his favorite scenes. We discuss how audiences don't need origin stories for well established characters anymore and it's great that directors are in agreement.

Spoiler free until the 21 minute mark.
