For my 200th episode I welcome a photographer that I’ve been looking forward to speaking with for years by the name of Arto Saari. Arto is originally from Seinajoki,Finland and currently resides in Hawaii. Arto has worked with clients such as Vogue, Men’s Health,New Balance, Nixon watches, Volcom, and Juice Magazine to name a few. In this interview I speak to Arto about how he first discovered photography while touring the world as a professional skateboarder and I also speak to Arto about some of his recent work photographing surfing on the North Shore of Hawaii. Beyond being an accomplished and talented photographer Arto spent nearly 2 decades as one of the worlds top professional skateboarders having been awarded Thrasher Magazines 2001 Skater of the year. I grew up watching Arto’s skating in legendary videos such as Menekmati and Flip’s Sorry video.
