About Star Trek (1965)

In 1965, NBC ordered a pilot for a new series called Star Trek with a pilot called "The Cage." It had a cast that was almost entirely different than the series we all know, other than Leonard Nimoy and Majel Barrett. The pilot was considered too cerebral and didn't have enough action, so NBC never aired it, opting to order a new pilot which would star the familiar original series cast with William Shatner, DeForrest Kelley, Leonard Nimoy, Walter Koenig and George Takei.

Ventura needed someone who really knew wrestling, so he enlisted Rowdy Roddy Piper after he showed interest and the show was turned into a buddy cop comedy, Tag Team. Only one episode was produced and burned off as a TV movie after the production companies sued each other and the show got caught in the middle.
