The Podcrastinators

In this absolute bumper lad of an episode Darran and Mat were reunited over Zoom during New Zealand’s latest Level 4 lockdown with comedy promoter and producer Ian C Ireland, stand up comic, musician, and improv performer Joel Vinson, and tax accountant and former ACT Party candidate Michael McCook.

The lads talked about COVID, and how their various parties had performed over the last year or so since the election. And lots of other things as well.

Including how they agreed it would good to support the victim of former Conservative Party leader Colin Craig who has been pursued through the courts for complaining about his sexual harassment of her.

Her fight has cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and you can support her brave stand here - https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/help-end-years-of-abuse-for-rachel-macgregor

Like Naan bread with sweet sparkly sprinkles or the spawn of Jenny from the block and Pusheen the cat, she is a distinctive individual. Bengali by heritage, cultivated in New York City and New Zealand's latest and greatest import. She is a rainbow black sheep, avid traveler, serial tinder dater by night, assistant director by day, and of course moonlighting writer and stand-up comedian. You can clock her from a mile away with her glowing aurora hair, red shiny lips, glittery twinkled eyes, most likely double parked, and chatting away about her hilariously awful dating life.

Yes we spent a very fun hour and a half talking with Ruky about safety in comedy, her comedy inspirations (dating features heavily) and some light murder and consensual cannibalism. So slight content warning!

You can find Ruky on Instagram and IMDB

There are the drinks we reviewed:

Carbomb, Slane Whiskey, Jack Daniels, Haka Vodka, and some random Pinot Noir.

And we talked a lot about the Bramble, Auckland’s best cocktail bar.

Yes it is actually episode 13 of season 2. We have made it to the halfway mark… Whoop!

In this episode di their long awaited debrief of their improvisational theatre journey so far. Thanks so much to Mary, Jesse, Elaine, Praveen, Kimberley, and Laura for helping with that - and to the other students and teachers at the Covert Theatre in Auckland for sharing our journey.

We’re sure you will agree, this is a delightful interview with up and coming Auckland based funny man Elliot McLaren. In this episode we talked about comedy, coming out, racism, tough upbringings, and what a small goods man means.

Elliot doesn’t have much of an internet profile right now - look out for him on a comedy bill near you right now!
