Week 1 of Unrivaled is officially in the books, and early storylines are already taking shape.

Rose sits at the top after an undefeated Week 1, and the question is already fair to ask: could this be a repeat championship run? They showed composure, execution, and the ability to close tight games — the exact traits that separate contenders from everyone else.

Breeze made one of the loudest statements of the opening slate, and it starts with Paige Bueckers. Her impact was immediate, setting the pace offensively while anchoring Breeze as a legitimate threat. Their opening win over Phantom announced them as a team no one can overlook.

Phantom answered back in a big way, with Kelsey Plum providing the scoring punch and late-game pressure that defines their identity. Even with early roster challenges, Phantom showed resilience and balance, reminding everyone why they’re built for deep runs.

What stood out most in Week 1 was the competitiveness. These weren’t tune-up games. The margins were tight, the physicality was real, and teams were already adjusting on the fly. This league is rewarding execution, decision-making, and stars who can deliver in big moments.

If Week 1 is the baseline, Unrivaled is only going to get tougher from here.
