This episode was taped the day after our presidential debate which was historic in how shitty it was. Neko and Will go through what happened, and while no one on earth would be able to make sense of it, they do a great job of comparing it to Harry Potter.

We get in to some heavy stuff on this one. We taped this in mid-September when our country was going through some stuff, kinda like now. So if you are having trouble digesting the current state of affairs maybe us diving in to it with a barrage of constant Harry Potter parallels.

On this episode of the Potterhood, Neko and Will tackle some listener questions and those questions deal not just with Harry Potter.... but also with the state of the country. Oh what a time to be alive. The biggest difference between Deathly Hallows and 2020 is that during Deathly Hallows you were optimistic there was going to be a happy ending.

This episode starts off with an analysis of Slytherin's anti-muggle prejudice and really goes from there. There is a referendum on the recent statement by a Cuomo that comedy clubs are not essential. Of course we related it all to Harry Potter. You know us we stay relating everything to Harry Potter.

Neko and Will are aware that there is a pretty big election looming. We break down which characters would vote for which candidates: Lucius Malfoy and Cornelius Fudge (that's a rough parallel, in the podcast we actually use the real candidates- Joe Biden and He who must not Attempt a Sit-Up)

Not every character votes for who you would expect. But I think we make a compelling case for who would do what.

Neko and Will talk about if Snape deserves to be forgiven, why there isn't advanced broom flying and also who's better between Kendrick Lamar or TI. And they make the Kendrick or TI thing about Harry Potter! What other podcast is comparing a Kendrick Lamar / TI rap battle to a moment in the Harry Potter series? None! And I can say that definitively.

This episode starts out a little different in light of recent events around the United States. We pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman and sort him in to a Hogwarts house. We also attempt parallels between some of the most important happenings around the country and the Harry Potter series. Shout-out all of the athletes that participated in the boycott opposing police brutality, especially those in the WNBA, NBA, and Naomi Osaka.

Neko and Will sort the song "Wap" and discuss what was Harry's worst year at Hogwarts. Also a really good conversation where we compare the Weasleys to the Gaunts. And we contrast them too. And we talk about how different characters would react to Wap. What a great song! What a great episode! What a rough summer!

This episode is a little different, kinda. We discuss the Hufflepuff Three and their time at Hogwarts. And other stuff too. Who are the Hufflepuff Three you ask. They are Ernie McMillan, Hannah Abbott, and Justin Finch-Fletchley (honorary mention Susan Bones.) This episode is fun and chill. Very chill.

Neko and Will sort Rep. John Lewis and dive in to Eminem's discography in Potterhood fashion. We also talk about favorite parts of Book 5. More specifically, we discuss which character we would want to be for a day in Goblet of Fire. Teaser: Will makes a claim that a moment in Goblet represents Harry's absolute highest point (in terms of his personal happiness). We also award an Arthur Weasley Award to the character we would most likely to chaperone a high risk mission: a trip to the supermarket during covid.
