  • 23-089 Spiritual Hide-and-Seek: Discovering God's Hidden Treasures

Have you ever noticed that when it comes to our relationship with God, it often feels like we're playing a game of spiritual hide-and-seek? God seems to have a knack for being elusive when we're seeking Him, yet He pursues us relentlessly when we're not. Today, let's explore this fascinating dynamic with three points to consider, a call to action, and a conclusion. So buckle up, and let's dive in!

    * Playing Hard to Get: God's Mysterious Ways

Proverbs 25:2 says, "It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them." It's as if God enjoys keeping us on our toes, hiding His voice, His specific will, and His reasons in places that require us to put in the effort to find them. It's like a cosmic game of "Where's Waldo?" with the ultimate prize being a deeper understanding of God's heart.

    * Hungry for More: Pursuing God's Hidden Treasures

God doesn't just hand everything to us on a silver platter – He wants to see who's truly hungry for His presence. Who will persist in the search to hear Him? Who desires an authentic relationship with Him, rather than just a set of rules to follow? The answers to these questions lie in our willingness to seek God wholeheartedly, even when He seems to be playing hard to get.

    * The Journey Matters: Growing Closer to God Through the Search

In our pursuit of God, the journey itself is significant. Those who are content with a surface-level, the religious practice may give up early in the quest. But those who can only be satisfied by a genuine encounter with God will persevere, deepening their relationship with Him as they uncover His hidden treasures.

    Call to Action:

Commit to seeking God and discovering His concealed treasures, even when it feels like you're playing spiritual hide-and-seek. Embrace the journey, knowing that the process of searching will draw you closer to God's heart. Be persistent in your pursuit, and don't be discouraged when the answers don't come easily.

    Conclusion:

The game of spiritual hide-and-seek that God seems to play with us can be frustrating at times, but it's also an incredible opportunity to grow in our relationship with Him. As we embrace the challenge of discovering God's hidden treasures, we'll find ourselves drawn closer to His heart and experiencing a deeper connection with our Creator. So, my friends, let's lace up our spiritual sneakers and get ready to play the most rewarding game of hide-and-seek we'll ever experience!

Let’s Pray…Lord, I’ll never give up my desire for more of You  —more closeness, better hearing, a deeper connection. Draw me closer and show me the secrets of Your heart.

  • 23-088 The Better Covenant: Embracing God's Personal Relationship

Hey there warriors! Hebrews 8:6 tells us that Jesus offers us a better covenant with God, based on better promises. But when the Bible says "better," what exactly does it mean? Let's dive into three points that will help us understand the superiority of this new covenant, along with a call to action and a conclusion.

    * The Upgrade of the Century

The new covenant is like upgrading from a flip phone to a smartphone – it's a game-changer! It's better than the covenant established at Sinai, better than the legal system allowing priests to enter the Holy of Holies, and even better than the relationships God had with the likes of Abraham, Moses, David, and the prophets. This new covenant brings God's relationship with us to a whole new level.

    * Face-to-Face Communication: Not Just for Moses Anymore

Some people argue that God no longer speaks to us because everything He has to say is already in the Bible. But think about it: if God met Moses face-to-face and we only get a book, that's not an upgrade. We wouldn't call it a "better" covenant if it means God has gone silent or only communicates through ancient texts. No, in this new covenant era, with the indwelling Spirit, we are redeemed to have a personal relationship with God.

    * Don't Fall for the Deception: God Still Speaks

It's easy to think that God's general revelation to humanity through the Bible means He's done talking to us personally. But that's like saying that once you read a bestselling relationship book, you no longer need to have conversations with your significant other. Just as relationships thrive on a personal connection, God still speaks to us individually about our unique situations and needs.

    Call to Action:

Embrace the better covenant Jesus offers by nurturing your personal relationship with God. Seek His presence in prayer, listen for His voice, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Remember that God's communication goes beyond the pages of Scripture – He wants to speak directly to your heart.

    Conclusion:

The better covenant we have through Jesus is like getting a backstage pass to the most exclusive concert in town – it's an incredible privilege! God wants to engage with us on a deeply personal level, sharing His heart and wisdom with our unique circumstances. So don't settle for a one-size-fits-all, impersonal spirituality. Embrace the upgrade and experience the joy of a personal relationship with God. After all, who wouldn't want to have a divine one-on-one with the Creator of the universe?

Let’s Pray…Lord, I embrace every word of Your revelation in Scripture, and I choose to take it personally. Yet I know You give specific direction, too, and I know You enjoy my company. Please keep our conversations lively and refreshing  —and very unique to us.

  • 23-087 Embracing the Mystery: Trusting God's Unfolding Plan

God has a unique way of communicating with us. Sometimes He speaks cryptically, leaving us to ponder the true meaning of His messages. Daniel 12:9 says, "Go now, Daniel, for what I have said is kept secret and sealed until the time of the end." This scripture reminds us that God's revelations might not be immediately understood, but they will eventually come to light when the time is right. With this in mind, let's explore three points to consider, a call to action, and a conclusion that will help you trust God's unfolding plan for your life.

    * Embrace the Mystery

In our quest for understanding, we might struggle with the idea that God sometimes speaks in mysterious ways. However, embracing the mystery of His communication allows us to grow in faith and trust in His divine timing. Remember that God has a purpose for every message, even if the meaning is not immediately apparent.

    * Trust the Journey

When God reveals a promise or calling, we often focus on the destination, overlooking the winding path that leads us there. Our expectations about the journey can lead to frustration and disappointment when things don't go as planned. Trusting the journey means accepting that the path to our calling is rarely a straight line, and understanding that God will reveal the way step by step.

    * Cultivate Patience

God's timing is not always aligned with our expectations. His revelations may take time to unfold, and the true meaning of His messages might only become clear in hindsight. Cultivating patience allows us to appreciate the process and maintain faith in God's plan, even when we don't fully understand it.

    Call to Action:

Commit to trusting God's unfolding plan for your life. Embrace the mystery of His communication, trust the journey He has set before you, and cultivate patience in your walk with Him. Surrender your expectations and allow God to reveal the true meaning of His messages in His perfect timing.

    Conclusion:

As we navigate our relationship with God, we must remember that His ways are not always straightforward. Just as He told Daniel to keep the message secret and sealed until the time of the end, He might also communicate with us in mysterious ways. By embracing the mystery, trusting the journey, and cultivating patience, we can deepen our faith and trust in God's unfolding plan for our lives.

Remember, the essence of the picture God gives you is true, even if the path to its realization is not explicitly stated. As you hold onto the promises and callings yet to be fulfilled, trust that God will reveal the winding road that leads you to your destination. In the end, His perfect timing will bring everything to light, and the true meaning of His messages will be revealed.

Let’s Pray…Lord, Your secrets are still mysteries to me even after You tell them. Show me enough to keep me going. Help me keep the destination in view, regardless of how the path turns. Give me the faith to get there.

  • 23-086 The Art of Patience: Conversations with God

In our journey with God, we are called to embrace the wisdom of patience and the art of timing. As the scripture says, "A time to be quiet and a time to speak." (Ecclesiastes 3:7). God knows when it is the right moment for us to hear His voice, and we must trust His divine timing. Here are three points to consider, a call to action, and a conclusion that will help you strengthen your relationship with God through patience and trust.

    * Understand the Importance of Timing

In our daily lives, we often wait for the right moment to take action, whether it's to correct our children, approach our friends or spouses, or make significant decisions in our work lives. We understand that timing is crucial, but when it comes to our relationship with God, we sometimes forget this wisdom. Trusting in God's timing means knowing that He has a plan for us and that the answers we seek will come when the time is right.

    * Embrace the Process

Conversations with God require patience and understanding that the answers may not come immediately. This process can take days, months, or even years. God sometimes provides a glimpse of the bigger picture—a vision or calling that unfolds over time. But the journey to fulfilling that calling is rarely straightforward. There will be stops and starts, twists and turns, and growing pains along the way. Embrace this process and trust in God's plan for your life.

    * Recognize the Value of Silence

God's silence is not a sign of abandonment or disapproval. Instead, it is a reminder that He knows when it's time to speak and when it's time to be quiet. Sometimes, silence is an invitation for us to reflect, grow, and prepare for the next step in our journey. Trust that He is working in your life, even when you can't see or hear it.

    Call to Action:

In your relationship with God, commit to practicing patience and trusting in His divine timing. When you pray, ask for wisdom and understanding as you navigate life's challenges. Surrender your need for immediate answers and trust that God's timing is always perfect.

    Conclusion:

As we navigate our conversations with God, let us be reminded of the wisdom found in Ecclesiastes 3:7: "A time to be quiet and a time to speak." Through patience, trust, and embracing the process, we can deepen our relationship with God and step into the divine plan He has for our lives. Remember that His timing is always perfect, and He is present with you, even in the quiet moments. Hold onto your faith, and trust that the answers you seek will come when the time is right.

Let’s Pray…Lord, the waiting is the hardest part. I don’t always know how to interpret the rhythm of our conversations. Give me the patience to wait and watch for Your words.

    My dearest child,

I know that you have questions and doubts about my love for you, but I want you to know that my love is unfailing and unchanging. My love for you goes beyond anything you could ever imagine. I know that you have had times when you have not recognized my voice or have struggled to understand my will for your life, but I want you to know that I am always here, speaking to you, guiding you, and loving you.

I understand that you have had difficulties and challenges in your life, but I want you to know that I am with you every step of the way. I have seen your struggles and your pain, and I have never left your side. My love for you is stronger than any hardship you may face, and I will never abandon you.

I know that you may have bitterness and hurt from your past experiences, but I want you to let go of those feelings and trust in me. I am not the same as the people who have hurt you in the past. I am a God of love, compassion, and mercy. I want to heal your wounds and bring you into a place of peace and rest.

My child, every day with me is a new adventure. I have plans for you that are beyond anything you could ever imagine. I am with you always, and my love for you will never fade.

Let’s Pray…Lord, help me not to bring the baggage of yesterday’s misunderstandings, questions, struggles, and false perceptions into the conversation of today. I know I haven’t always seen You rightly. Break my old ways of thinking and breathe fresh air into our relationship. Let me hear with new ears.

  • 23-084 ARE YOU LISTENING?

Hey Warriors, today I want to talk to you about the power of God’s whisper. Hezekiah found himself in a desperate situation, and the only way out was to hear from God. And when he prayed, God spoke to him through the prophet Isaiah. The same God who spoke to Hezekiah is the same God who speaks to us today. But are we listening?

    Some things to think about

1: Are you presenting your needs to God?

We cannot expect to hear from God if we do not present our needs to Him. Hezekiah could have chosen to surrender or make a hasty decision, but instead, he chose to pray and wait on the Lord. When we come to God in prayer, we are acknowledging our need for Him, and we are positioning ourselves to hear from Him.

Follow-up Question 2: Are you listening closely?

God often speaks in a whisper, and if we are not listening closely, we can miss what He is saying. Hezekiah could have easily dismissed Isaiah’s prophecy as wishful thinking or a figment of his imagination. But instead, he chose to listen and believe. When we listen to God’s voice, we can have the same confidence that Hezekiah had in the midst of his trial.

Follow-up Question 3: Are you willing to cooperate with God’s solution?

God’s solutions often require our cooperation. Hezekiah could have easily dismissed Isaiah’s prophecy and not taken any action. But instead, he cooperated with God’s plan and was able to experience miraculous deliverance. When we hear from God, we need to be willing to cooperate with His plan and trust that He will bring it to pass.

    Call to Action:

My dear friends, today I want to challenge you to pray, wait, and listen for God’s whisper. He is speaking, but are we listening? Let us present our needs to Him, listen closely, and be willing to cooperate with His plan.

    Conclusion:

In conclusion, the power of God’s whisper is available to all of us. Hezekiah was able to experience miraculous deliverance because he presented his need to God, listened closely, and was willing to cooperate with His plan. May we also be like Hezekiah and hear from God in the midst of our trials. Let us pray, wait, and listen for His voice. And when we hear it, let us be willing to cooperate with His plan and trust that He will bring it to pass. God bless you all.

Let’s Pray…I have impossible situations too, Lord. Please speak into them. Turn back the threats, reverse the momentum, and open doors of opportunity. Let me see the miracles that come from Your mouth.

  • 23-083 READY AND WILLING TO LISTEN

Warriors…have you ever had a dream that felt so real, so vivid, that you knew it was more than just your subconscious at work? Have you ever felt a nudge in your spirit, a gentle whisper that you knew was from God? These are the moments when we must pay attention, for God speaks to us in many ways, including through dreams and whispers.

We live in a world that is loud and chaotic, a world that bombards us with information and distractions. It can be difficult to hear the still, small voice of God in the midst of all the noise. But when we take the time to quiet our hearts and listen, we will hear Him speak. Sometimes it may be a whisper, barely audible above the din of our busy lives. Other times it may be a dream that lingers long after we wake up. However He chooses to speak to us, we must be ready and willing to listen.

Joseph was a man who heard God’s voice in his dreams. He listened and obeyed, even when it meant taking his family and fleeing to Egypt to escape King Herod’s wrath. The wise men also heard God’s voice in a dream, and they followed the star to find the Christ child. These were not idle fantasies or wishful thinking; they were divine revelations that led to life-changing decisions.

We too can hear God’s voice in our dreams and whispers. We can ask Him to speak to us and trust that He will guide us in the way we should go. We can seek His wisdom and discernment, knowing that He will not lead us astray. We can rest in the assurance that His plans for us are good, and that He has a purpose and a destiny for each of us.

So I ask you, brothers and sisters, are you listening for God’s whispers? Are you paying attention to the dreams He gives you? Are you willing to follow where He leads, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone?

As we close, I want to encourage you to take some time today to listen for God’s voice. Quiet your heart and ask Him to speak to you. Be open and receptive to whatever He may say, whether it’s a dream, a whisper, or a still, small voice. And when you hear Him, be obedient and follow where He leads. For there is power in God’s whisper, and it can change the course of our lives.

    Follow-up Questions:

    * How can we distinguish between God’s voice and our own thoughts when we have a dream or hear a whisper?

    * How can we develop a habit of listening for God’s whispers in our daily lives?

    * Have you ever experienced a dream or whisper from God that led to a life-changing decision? What was it like, and how did you know it was from Him?

    Call to Action:

Take some time today to pray and ask God to speak to you in a dream or whisper. Keep a journal by your bedside and write down any dreams or insights you receive. Practice listening for His voice throughout the day, and be open to whatever He may say.

    Conclusion:

Warriors, let us be a people who are sensitive to God’s voice. Let us listen for His whispers and follow where He leads. For He is a good Father who longs to guide us in the way we should go. May we be a people who are marked by the power of His whisper, and may our lives be forever changed as a result. Amen.

  • 23-082 THUNDER VS WHISPER

God’s voice is not always loud and thunderous. Sometimes, it’s a whisper. A whisper that we can only hear when we are quiet and attentive. But when we do hear it, it can change our lives and the lives of those around us.

In Acts 8, we see the power of God’s whisper in the life of Philip. The Holy Spirit spoke to him in a clear and specific way, guiding him to walk alongside a traveler and share the Good News of Jesus with him. And because Philip listened and obeyed, the Ethiopian traveler was saved and the Gospel was spread to a new part of the world.

So, what can we learn from this story? How can we hear God’s whisper and be obedient like Philip? Here are three follow-up questions to consider:

    * Are we listening for God’s whisper?

In our fast-paced, noisy world, it can be difficult to hear God’s voice. We are bombarded with distractions and often prioritize our own agendas over listening for God’s guidance. But if we want to hear God’s whisper, we need to make time to be quiet and attentive. We need to be intentional about seeking God and listening for His voice.

    * Are we willing to be obedient?

When we do hear God’s whisper, are we willing to obey? Philip could have easily ignored the Spirit’s prompt to walk alongside the traveler. He could have come up with excuses or rationalized his own plans. But he chose to be obedient, even when it was inconvenient or uncomfortable. We too must be willing to step out in faith and obedience when we hear God’s voice.

    * Are we sharing the Good News?

Like Philip, we are called to share the Good News of Jesus with those around us. We may not have the opportunity to travel to far-off lands, but we can share the Gospel with our family, friends, and co-workers. We can be a light in our communities, showing the love of Christ through our words and actions. God’s whisper may be leading us to a specific person or situation where we can make a difference.

So, what is our call to action? It’s simple: listen for God’s whisper, be obedient, and share the Good News. It may not always be easy or comfortable, but we can trust that God’s whisper will lead us to where we need to go and empower us to do what we need to do.

In conclusion, God’s whisper is powerful. It can change lives, spread the Gospel, and impact the world. But we need to be attentive and obedient to hear it. So, let’s listen for God’s whisper and be willing to step out in faith and obedience, trusting that He will guide us and use us for His glory.

Let’s Pray….Holy Spirit, I want to hear You as clearly as Philip did. I want to be able to follow Your specific instructions. Give me the faith to do so and the ears to hear You. And speak powerfully through me as I respond to what You are speaking to me.

  • 23-081 SEEKING GOD'S VOICE

We can speak words of comfort and hope that come straight from God’s heart. We can share His truth and love with those around us.

So how can we ensure that we are speaking the very words of God? How can we discern His voice amidst the many voices around us?

First, we must be intentional about seeking God’s voice. We cannot expect to hear from Him if we are not actively listening. This means making time for prayer and reflection and tuning out the noise of the world around us. We must also be willing to obey what we hear. God’s words are not meant for us to hoard; they are meant to be shared with others.

Second, we must be discerning about what we hear. Not every voice claiming to be from God is actually from Him. We must test what we hear against the truth of Scripture and seek the counsel of wise, godly people. We must also be willing to admit when we are wrong and seek correction.

Third, we must be willing to step out in faith and speak what we believe God is saying. This can be scary, especially if we are unsure of what we are hearing. But we must remember that God has given us His Spirit and His mind, and He will guide us as we speak. We must also trust that He will use our words for His purposes, even if we do not see the results right away.

So let us be a people who speak the very words of God. Let us seek His voice, discern what we hear, and step out in faith to share His truth and love with those around us. As we do, we will see God move in powerful ways and transform lives through His spoken word.

    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION:

    * How often do you intentionally seek God’s voice? What can you do to make more time for prayer and reflection?

    * How do you discern whether a voice claiming to be from God is actually from Him? What role does Scripture and wise counsel play in this process?

    * When was the last time you spoke what you believed to be the very words of God? What was the result?

    CALL TO ACTION:

Take some time this week to intentionally seek God’s voice. Set aside time for prayer and reflection, and ask Him to speak to you. Be open to what you hear, and be willing to obey what He says. Then, as you go about your day, look for opportunities to speak what you believe God is saying. Ask Him to give you boldness and clarity as you share His truth and love with those around you.

Let’s Pray…God, let me declare Your words and let me recognize them in others. We ask You to speak, and it only makes sense that You would use people to do so. Help me to hear and speak Your sacred thoughts.
