WELCOMEWe settled your identity, your authority, your purpose. Now watch how it shows up in the most ordinary place of all, the way you pray. Because a lot of us still pray like we’re sneaking up to a door we’re not sure we’re allowed through.
Scripture says something bolder. It says come with confidence. Walk right up to the throne of grace like the son you already are.
———
THIS IS FOR YOU IF…You approach God tentatively, half-braced to be turned away. If your prayers shrink and apologize before they ever ask for anything. If you believe in your head that you belong in His presence but you still pray like an intruder hoping not to get noticed.
The throne He put in front of you is called a throne of grace, and He told you to come to it boldly.

BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT
God didn’t tell you to creep up to Him. He told you to come with confidence. Stop praying like an intruder and start praying like a son who has every right to be there.

OUR SPRINGBOARD FOR TODAY’S DISCUSSION IS:
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” — Hebrews 4:16, ESV

JOIN US AS A FAITH PARTNERSomebody listening today has been tiptoeing up to God for years, half-expecting to be sent away. This ministry exists to keep telling people they’re welcome at the throne, boldly. When you become a Faith Partner, you help carry that welcome to the next person still praying like they don’t belong.

MAIN MENTORING
Look at the word the writer chooses. Confidence. Come to the throne with confidence. That word carried the sense of speaking freely, holding nothing back, the way a person talks in a room where they’re fully at home. And he attaches it to the highest place in all of reality, the throne of God, the one spot you’d expect to require the most careful, trembling approach. He says walk up to that one boldly.
Then he names the throne. It’s a throne of grace. That single word rearranges everything. A throne of judgment would justify your fear. You’d be right to approach it shaking, wondering if today’s the day the verdict goes against you. But grace means the verdict already came in, and it came in your favor because of Christ. The throne you’re approaching isn’t waiting to condemn you. It’s stocked with mercy and help, and the King on it has been waiting for you to come close.
Here’s what timid prayer reveals, and it’s worth being honest about it. When we pray small, apologetic, half-expecting rejection, we’re not being humble. We’re quietly saying we don’t really believe the relationship is settled. We’re still performing for access that was already granted. Real humility doesn’t shrink back from a throne of grace. Real humility takes God at His word, and His word says come, and come boldly. Shrinking back, when He’s told you to draw near, is its own kind of unbelief dressed up as reverence.
Notice too when he tells you to come. In time of need. Not once you’ve cleaned yourself up, not after you’ve earned your way back into good standing, but right in the middle of the mess, at the exact moment you feel least qualified to approach. That’s when confidence matters most, because that’s when the accuser works hardest to keep you away. The moment you most need grace is the moment you’re most tempted to hide, and the writer says no, that’s precisely when you draw near.
This is where the whole month cashes out in something you do every single day. You know you’re a son. You know you have a Father. So the way you come to Him should look like it. A son in trouble runs toward his father’s room, not away from it. He doesn’t stand in the hall rehearsing an apology, wondering if he’ll be received. He knows he’ll be received, so he comes. That confidence isn’t arrogance. It’s the natural posture of someone who finally believes he belongs.
So change how you come to Him today. Drop the tiptoeing. Drop the apology you lead with before every request. Walk up to the throne of grace like the son you are, in your need, holding nothing back, fully expecting to find mercy there. Because you will.

DAILY ACTIONThe next time you pray today, notice how you approach. If you catch yourself shrinking, apologizing, hedging, stop and start over. Come boldly instead. Say what you actually need, plainly, like a son talking to a Father who is glad you came.
———
THE DAILY CHARGEThe King on the throne is not waiting to turn you away. He built that throne out of grace and He told you to walk up to it with confidence, in your need, in your mess, holding nothing back. So stop creeping up to God like you might get caught. Stop leading every prayer with an apology for existing. You are a son, and sons don’t stand in the hallway. Come close, come bold, and receive the mercy He has been holding out to you the whole time.
———
LET’S PRAYFather, I’ve been tiptoeing up to You for so long, half-braced to be turned away. Forgive me for calling that reverence when it was really unbelief. Thank You that Your throne is a throne of grace, that the verdict already came in through Jesus, and that You told me to come boldly, especially when I’m in need. Teach me to pray like a son who belongs in the room. I come to You now, in my mess, holding nothing back, trusting that mercy is exactly what I’ll find. Amen.
