  • Power Project Episode #54: The Purpose of Network Marketing
This week I am pulling the curtain back and demystifying the subject of network marketing. The good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between. Don't worry if you're not in the business channel, there are still some great takeaways for you here.

If you are in any type of network marketing, direct sales, multi-level marketing, or consumer connected business, this is the episode for you. I give you a tangible action plan for growing a purpose-filled business.

    Develop an ACTION PLAN:
    1. Go back to the beginning. Where was your passion, where was your excitement, where was your zeal? Where was your desire to share this opportunity with everyone? Go back there and lets create the action plan of what it looks like to share this with everyone now.

    2. Choose which avenue of sharing the business works for your network and craft your action plan around that. If it’s events, go all in on those. If it is One on one, coffee & convos, do those. If you are an Instagram influencer, go all in there.

    3. Find which platform works for your market. A perfectly curated Instagram feed doesn’t speak to stay at home housewife. This may speak to a millennial, but a stay at home mom wants to see your authentic life on Facebook.

    4. Develop a business mindset through personal development.

    5. Find the right type of team members & market to them.

    WHAT NOT TO DO
    Do not duplicate. **Imitate**
Duplicate=. exactly like something else, especially through having been copied.
Imitate= to follow as a pattern, model, or example
Copy or pasting is as bad as trying to be someone else that you’re not. What you do need to do is find the actions that someone successful in your company has taken. Follow those steps. Don’t copy them. Instead, find your own way along the same path.

    2. DO NOT SPAM
Don’t add people to Facebook that you don’t know without having had previous interaction with them.
Don’t send “cold-call” messages immediately without forming some type of relationship.

Tess Clarke's point of view on these pressing matters is an alternative view that may not align with either side of the conversation you may be on. Tess focuses on looking into the heart of the matter for real people, and tries to see past the controversy.

  • Power Project Episode #49 Branding With Brandi
This week, we're jumping into a little Branding Bootcamp. This is something that I get asked about often. Want to know a secret? No one taught me how to create a personal brand. I am just extremely self aware and committed enough to being authentic that I was able to google anything else I needed to know.

Branding is crucial if you are wanting to represent and promote anything well. We live in a consumer society where people are buying daily. It's up to us to make sure they are shopping with us because we know we are ethical.

I've attached a Branding Bootcamp Giveaway for this episode: download it here ---->

  • Episode #48-Back To School: Setting Your Kids Up for Success
This week is a Back to School Special:
I discuss the importance of setting your children up for success and what that looks like:
    1. Establish Expectations for The School Year:
    At School:
What grades are required? What privileges are lost if those grades aren’t met?
Responsibilities: What does that look like for different ages?
    At Home:
What household chores are expected throughout the week?
    -Lunches packed night before.
-Unpack backpacks and set out notes/reminder binders/things to be signed after school
-Help with laundry, dishes, and kitchen clean up.

    2. Remind Them of their Identity (especially in Junior High where they start to find identity in peers rather than family )
    -Who are they?
    -What traits make them leaders?
-What unique gifts did God give them to use to bring glory to Him?
-Let them know that they are not defined by their athletic or academic abilities. While greatness is admirable to strive for, who God created them to be, is far more important in life.

    -What are their morals?
-What temptations will they face? What does this look like at different ages? 5th grade: lying about homework and bullying, 8th grade more serious temptations, vaping, drugs, sex, alcohol, porn….

-Re-establish Boundaries: Remind them of both their personal boundaries as well as respecting other’s boundaries. Have an age appropriate discussion about inappropriate actions and how to know when something doesn't feel right.

-Remind them of what characteristics make them a leader for Christ.
    -Stand up for personal beliefs.
    -Embrace their unique gifts.
-Be themselves and don’t change for others
-Be proud of who they were created to be.
    -Give God the Glory
-Witness to Others: take up for the underdog, make the new kid feel welcome, speak up for the bullied.
    -Be Humble & Kind

    3. Ways to Stay Organized throughout the school year:
    -Sync Your Calendars
-ICal: One address for all family events synced with hubs & one address for strictly kid events synced with hubs & kiddos.
-Cozi Family App: Never tried it, but hear it works wonders to sync all things family.

-Set Bedtime on Kids’ Phones: Set it for 15 minutes before bedtime so that they can know it’s time to wrap up whatever activity they are doing: practice piano, watch videos, read, etc…
Parental Restrictions on Kids phones: Set Parameters on Data & Screen time usage to turn off at bedtime & then turn back on at whatever time you wish the next day.

-What to do with ALL The Things that come home from school:
-Immediately enter dates into phone with notes & throw paper notes away
-Artwork: Download the ArtKive app: it creates digital files of your kids' artwork, stores it in a cloud file & you can order scrapbooks.

    4. SAFETY:
-360 LIFE: Great Family Monitoring app
-BARK: monitors who your children are talking to and what they’re talking about. *Must have Apple/Android/or Amazon device:
-Monitors Social Media, Text Messages, Email, YouTube, Safari, and DropBox
-Monitors & Detects risks through algorithms that detect cyberbullying, violence, drugs & alcohol, self-harm & suicide, sexual content & sexting…so that you don’t have to manually read every message and it's only $9/month:
-For Children under 10 years of age:
NCMEC created a campaign to teach young children about safe internet usage: It’s called Into The Cloud and deals with Cyberbullying as well as inappropriate interactions: YouTube: NetSmartz Workshop.

  • Power Project Episode #47: Amy Hehre with OVI Children’s Hospital
This week I have the privilege of chatting with Amy Hehre, CEO of OVI Children’s Hospital in Kenya.  At 20 years old, she dreamt of a missional life serving orphans in Africa.  She found the strength to pursue this calling when someone asked her “If that’s the life you want to be living, then why aren’t you doing it?”

By the age of 22, she had plans for the organization in Kenya.  At 24, she had an active ministry and deed in hand for the hospital.  When she reached the ripe age of 25 she had seen her vision come to fruition in an operating hospital that was at full capacity.

After two years of operating, she now has dreams of opening 88 more hospitals.

She shares about the struggle of devastation and death that she sees in a daily basis but the beauty that she sees God doing within the midst of it.

Amy also talks about how she is using a non-traditional business model to fund her family while growing the business and is currently modeling that structure for her ambassador program.
