If you are a driven, competitive, and disciplined person, whether it's in the gym or in LIFE, this is a must-listen.
The conversation about athlete brain- what it is, how it shows up, and how it can be leveraged in a variety of ways, keeps evolving as we do.
When we become parents, it's even more important to address how we navigate this mentality within ourselves and in how we support our kids as they experience sports, competition, pressure, and confidence.

On this week's episode, I brought on 4 friends I have made since moving to Idaho about a year ago from Southern California. We discuss practical ways we've gotten out of our comfort zone and embraced opportunities that would help facilitate friendships. Friendship can be uncomfortable and sensitive for many adults, especially when you've experienced grief, change, and distance. We discuss elements of female friendship that we've each experienced, and how we are trying to show up now in order to cultivate the relationships we desire.

Steph Gaudreau is a coach who specializes in performance nutrition, specifically for women over 40. In this episode, we talk about how there are MANY parallels with the work we each do when it comes to talking about seasons that influence a female athlete's life, training, body, and experiences.
Steph shared a lot of common mistakes in how we approach training and nutrition and provided practical ways to improve how we fuel, which benefits performance, hormones, and body composition. You will learn so much from Stef.

How often have you been told, or believed that you "can't do ____ because of ___," when it comes to exercise? For example, "I can't run because of my knees," or "I can't deadlift because it hurts my back."
We are often quick to take pain or discomfort with exercise and eliminate it completely.
We have created absolutes. While sometimes indicated, oftentimes, there's an opportunity to adjust mechanics before eliminating the movement altogether.
The thing about athleticism is we have OPTIONS, not limitations.
Yet, we often see an emphasis on the limitations in the medical, practitioner, and fitness communities.
There are many variables we can adjust that provide options to still do the activity, to our own unique capacity. In this episode, I provide examples and shifts to our approach as athletes and coaches to help explore our options when it comes to exercise and unique needs.

With that, I want to encourage you to practice brave in the little ways and big ways, because it will always improve who you are, and who you are becoming. Thanks for listening.

In this episode with my sister, she provides a super vulnerable conversation about the struggles of returning to work full-time, her challenges with exclusively pumping, and why for the first time ever, she truly does not have the mental or physical capacity to exercise. Desiree has felt alone in her struggles, given the "fit mom" culture and bubble we are part of, and in this season, she's learning where she fits in, and what she needs to do to navigate all the transitions as a new mom, professional and CrossFit athlete.

This is an episode that will provide clarity on how to go about navigating pregnancy and postpartum, whether you are an athlete or someone who coaches them through these seasons.
I covered questions to ask yourself, things to consider, adjustments needed, and exercise programming approaches.
This is the framework I use with my professional athletes, as well as the everyday recreational exerciser.

I moved from Southern California to the Boise area of Idaho a year ago. I've shared parts of that transition on social media, and in this week's episode, I brought on 4 friends that I've made who have also moved from another state to Idaho within the last year-ish. We share aspects of our stories, challenges, and perspective on what it means to start over, embrace a new beginning, and navigate the complicated emotions that come with it. This will be a multi-part series, and we are excited to share the origin stories.
