We were able to find out more about her life through music starting at an early age in choir which eventually led to her picking up music production and creating her own tracks she’s been releasing over the last several years. Her newest singles “Repair My Soul” and “Marquee” showcase her love for different styles and stories where she’s finding a home for her vulnerable and courageous lyrics to shine through. Having overcome both career and personal obstacles in her life it’s very inspiring to see Lillian’s perseverance and spirit as she starts to ascend on her mission as an artist. July 25, 2022Episode 112 - TaeThis week we welcomed a Vancouver artist named Tae who musically recalls her past and how it’s shaped the person she is today! After seeing her mother play instruments growing up she recalls originally being led to pursue a more Jazz and Pop based style. However Tae’s source of inspiration was found in the styles of late 90’s R&B and Hip-Hop where she’s found her own voice through her own time and process. As she crafts her first full album she recalls what it’s been like diving deep with her engineer to create a sonic reflection of her life today and some of her experiences growing up. Tae’s purpose and spirit is very apparent and her artist journey will be one to behold moving forward. July 18, 2022Episode 111 - Focused Pt. 2As an unofficial part 3 episode we reconnected this week with our good friend from Canada the artist known as Focused! We always love getting to talk Hip-Hop with a fellow student of the craft and he had a lot of cool stories once more for us. With his latest project “AM Grinding” he was able to take his experiences of traveling the world and relay them into the music while crafting and releasing the album during lockdown. Almost simultaneously he was recording a documentary about his own experiences during the pandemic which he recently dropped this month. Since then he’s been busy on releasing visuals, getting back to performing live and even plotting the early ideas for his next album all of which he’s very passionate about. We’re excited to see what we get next from Focused especially in the second half of the year. July 11, 2022Episode 110 - Tashan Pt. 2On another rapid fire episode we were able to talk with our past guest from episode 7 Tashan who hails from London! He joined us from a photo shoot and show prep simultaneously so it was great to still get some of his time to catch up on what he’s been up to the last couple years. He discussed his tracks “Stay” and “Raising Hell” which both came after a brief break from releasing any new material. The singles help showcase two different sides of his diverse style and are accompanied by visuals that he happened to take the lead in overseeing from start to finish. The biggest theme for him has been expanding his outreach in the arts through different outlets while keeping the quality and consistency high. After changing trajectory during college she began focusing on music leading her to dial in during the 2020 pandemic. Since then she’s dropped 3 projects including her new EP “Therapy Session” in which she describes as a deeper dive into her personal story telling and more evolved from songs she’s made in the past. She talked about how her photography serves as another creative outlet when it’s time to break from her music for a while and free her mind while still keeping arts at the center.
