The founding member of the OGKushCloud movement and one of our close friends JordanE420 joins the podcast for episode 87! It was great to catch up about his stellar consistency as of late which saw him drop many singles and EP’s including several collabs with our past guests O.G. Proce$$ and LuiKangOz. He discusses the learning curve of producing his own music and how he’s aiming to better craft his own sound around his raps to give listeners a more clear vision of each track. This might even include some studio sessions in the car in which he describes has been great to free his mind and be in nature just a little bit more than usual. Overall Jordan’s love for the game and his persistence as an independent and underground rapper is only sure to keep his movement and music alive as he is truly someone deeply rooted in the craft!

Taking a trip south from Columbus to Cincinnati Ohio rapper Grizz has continued his mission to find a way to make a name for himself in the game. This week we got him on the podcast to talk about his 2021 release “757” and what it meant for him to craft a full album with some close collaborators at the helm. He foreshadows some more collaborations for the coming months and talks about where he envisions taking things in the years to come as an artist. His tenacity and hunger for more has brought him to a solid point of standing out to other local acts like Frvr Kent whom he has learned and has had the chance to work with. It’s no doubt that Grizz will continue to climb the ranks and gain a more broad audience as he lives out his story for us all in real time!

A good friend of last months guest Dre A.M. and a fellow Queens native is the producer La Kosher Nostra! He joins us to go more in depth on his relationship with Dre and how it’s now led to the creation of his next album “Bad Kid Good City” which will be entirely produced by him. He also talks about the issues surrounding sample clearances and why the best thing to do in most cases is to get the ideas out there as opposed to killing them due to fear of a legal issue later on that usually can be solved one way or another. La Kosher Nostra is a savvy vet with a young spirit and it’s evident that his passion and drive to continue to innovate his music will only shine through to new listeners. As a catalyst of positive energy and sharp beyond his years Chicago artist Nehemiah Heckler joins the podcast! We discuss his Wovember EP which he recalls being in a very tapped in space emotionally when writing each song. As an artist who has no problems wearing his heart on his sleeve Nehemiah is making music for listeners who want a real connection and relatability aspect that not everyone is vulnerable enough to show. Returning to some live shows, raising a family and overcoming personal obstacles he touches on a lot of what’s shaped the man he is now especially after the events of the last couple years. As we enter 2022 we bring to you an interview with a great up and coming talent named Dre Star! Having moved to the states from Jamaica for school he also used the opportunity to connect the dots of a music career for himself which he is building into something quite amazing. He recalls the writing and song creation for his project “Prince Tape” and why he views it as a real stepping stone for his ability to tell his story to the listeners. Mixing styles like R&B and Pop he goes over what has inspired him to find a lane all on his own when it comes to the ability of creating an intriguing narrative in each record. With a good amount of music in the tuck and a real solid plan in place for the new year we look forward to seeing Dre elevate in his overall success and stardom!

We close 2021 in style as our own former co-host JayTrey returns to the podcast! He recaps the process of creating and releasing his second album “Epitome of Chaos” and the great reception it received as his most prominent project to date. Jay recalls his process when writing hooks and how he’s able to craft memorable moments through each track he pieces together and speaks on his evolution as an artists overall in the last 5 years. On this weeks episode he gives us some insight into his spiritual connection and approach to creativity which has ultimately allowed him to level up in all his endeavors. Now pursuing music full time after stepping away from his teaching job he and his wife are putting out amazing music and combining their artistic skills to make new experiences for their fans and followers. Taavi is now also using his talent for other big projects like a new app in development that’s set to launch in 2022 which will see him create the sound bed and overall composition work for the project. He’s a great example of staying rooted and true to the foundation of what it means to be a creative and we hope you can take a lot from what Taavi shared with us here!

Myna is a forward thinking artist from Michigan looking to push the boundaries of creative thinking. She joins us on the 80th edition of the podcast this week and gave a rundown of where she resides in her career at the moment following the release of her stellar project “Indian Dragon”. Her unique artistic and story telling approaches can be found in not only each track but also the accompanying visuals which she describes putting together herself with the help of several close friends. You can’t find a more unique artist name than that of North Carolina rapper The Artist 336 and his music has been no exception so far since he started out! This week we caught up with him about his different forms of creativity which have now expanded into graphic design work, mixing and mastering tracks for other clients and more. After heavy inspiration from studying The Wu-Tang Clan in his early years he has sharpened his writing skills and overall delivery to make much better music leading to his big momentum shift in 2021. Having made many connections since his move from Detroit to Chicago the multi-talented Jae Maurice joins the show to recap the events that have guided him through his journey so far. From a name change to focusing on himself as an artist first and foremost over producing and playing instruments he covers some ground of the almost 10 years he’s had in the music world and what it’s meant to build a solid foundation with his fellow peers he’s met along the way. After dropping tracks like “Old Soul” and “Ghost” this year Jae is continuing to grow his sound and following as he moves into the next chapter. Currently lining up his 2022 plans for releases and live events keep an eye out for Jae’s ability to dazzle with his rhymes and his playing ability as well!
