Before smartphones or the internet, before video games, movies or tv, before records, before Broadway - there was opera.  The art form has existed since the late 1500s and although operas are still widely performed and respected, the world has indeed changed and has become more challenging for opera companies to attract and build upon new audiences.  

This is why my guest is a true superstar.  Jessica Kiger is the Atlanta Opera's Audience Development and Education Manager.  I visited Jessica at the Atlanta Opera headquarters and I saw first hand how the Atlanta Opera is truly a world class arts organization.

Be Creative Podcast where a creative life is a happy life, a healthy life, and ultimately, a more successful life.  My name is Pete Bush and I am a father, husband, music teacher, chorus director, singer, writer and also the founder of PSBcreative, a theatrical production company that supports arts programs in schools.  

Singers are everywhere.  I believe that regardless of age, creed or ability, we all are musical beings.  A baby for instance, will be singing long before her or she can speak or walk.  To sing a song is truly a wonderful thing but to understand the song, know the story behind it, and to believe in every note, every lyric, every nuance - now that's something special.  

My guest is Sybil Eberhart.  She is a swing band jazz vocalist with a voice that's worth a million dollars, the wisdom of a library and the heart of an angel.  When Sybil sat down for a chat with me, she had a folder full of her hand written notes from the research she's done on countless jazz standards and classics from the Great American Songbook.
