The Public Affair

I was so glad to have this South Waco native finally come on the show! Clarissa had an amazing story about overcoming those trials of being a young, rebellious parent to ultimately becoming pretty much her own boss and building the brand “Allure by Clarissa”! She kept on telling me how super shy she was but, nothing some Apothic Red Wine couldn’t handle though! We ended up creating a super fun and exxxtra lit episode that’s definitely worth the watch! Both inspiring and funny of course!

Adrian, first featured on Episode 6 over 2 years ago, is back and this time accompanied by his gorgeous wife Cece! Adrian has come up so much since our first time meeting and recording, and came on to talk about all he’s accomplished! This couple also got very candid about some of their past trust issues when their relationship started, becoming new parents and dealing with postpartum, their perspective about education today (they’re both teachers), and more! I was so glad to reconnect with Adrian on this episode, and definitely have Cece on as well!

Dj Karissma was a long, overdue guest on the show that I am SO EXCITED I finally got to have on! His lit, carefree and eccentric personality are only some of the reasons why this veteran DJ and radio personality is such a staple to any event or party! He was super candid about his upbringing, and plowing through the haters that only wanted to silence him! With all the shots of Buchanan’s we had, it’s fair to say that this episode was all lit, and no bs!

Enrique and his family own the delicious Jimenez Bakery both here in town, and in Hillsboro, TX! While the business has thrived for many years, Enrique was very candid about the struggles he dealt with behind the scenes with being addicted to drugs. He came on the show to share a little bit of his story and let us know about the struggle he still faces to this day. I admire him so much for coming on and keeping it so real with us about his struggle, and I wish him all the best!!

Coach Matthew Ordones was a guest on Episode 16 of The Public Affair. He came on at that time to discuss some serious allegations of misconduct his family had to endure just some months prior! Fast forward 2 years later he comes back for redemption. Matt had been dealing with a severe case of alcoholism and depression, and masked it all away from us he felt like he had to. Matt comes back to let us all know how deep it really got, and apologize to all the people he hurt during dealing with this “sickness”. He shared some pretty cringeworthy confessions on this episode, and I applaud his honesty and his send of accountability!

I met this young, hot couple at a local pop up market and had this instant attraction to them! My gut feeling just said “invite them on the show”, and I’m so glad I did! Perla and Conrad were very open about the rough start in the beginning of their relationship, from having a side piece to being each other’s side piece and ultimately getting married, they held nothing back discussing the salacious journey to their happily married life! Perla was also very candid about her eating disorder and mental health battle she faced and how Conrad ultimately became her biggest cheerleader, amongst not having the proper “tools” or “resources” to deal with it!

I love meeting a star in the making, and Y2k is definitely a STAR IN THE MAKING!!! He’s a young, latino rap artist right from here in Waco, and his wordplay and hard work are arguably unrivaled! He’s made hits with other local artists like RXCHY (from Episode 62), Hotboy Wes, and Wacotron, and definitely has a library of solo hits that he consistently drops that will keep your playlist super litty kitty. His stage presence, crowd control, and infectious personality combined with his exceptional lyricism makes him an amazing artist on the rise, and one to definitely look out for in the future!

When I started working out at SoCo Soccer Academy 2 years ago, I would train with this BEAST who beat me at everything! His name was Santos. I knew by seeing his athleticism and how his dad would push him during workouts that he was absolutely destined for greatness at some point! Santos is a top-up and coming football 🏈 prospect who went on the show to discuss his intense training regimen, juggling that with being a regular 15-year-old kid! Like his cousin Avi from Ep. 99, Santos’s skills speak for themselves on the field, and I definitely think we will all know who he is soon!

The Public Affair Episode 106: Pelon Villa and Yazmin Landeros

https://youtu.be/pc8i3v4ls6A

I love love LOVE having a couple on the show, especially a couple like this! Pelon is a man with quite the “reputation” in town but, together with his dahhhling lady on his side, Yazmin, the couple came on to talk about how they leave all the mistakes of their past where it is, and work together to keep each other in check and be better versions of themselves. Through all of their past adversities, they were able to start the successful Villa’s Transportation LLC., and continue to be the best support for each other! They were so open and candid about their relationship, and I truly loved every minute of it! Plenty of booze, plenty of mess, and plenty of FUN!

There are a lot of people who tell me their super “shy” when I invite them on the show, including Carlos! But when I took a glimpse of his YouTube channel, , I said NO WAY!!! I just knew I had to get this guy on! Also, I reach out to so many people at a time and I definitely am guilty of following up! I reached out to Carlos late last year to come on, and the timing just wasn’t right. Well now, he’s on The Public Affair to school us on the many things he’s learned about both being a barber and a business owner! He may also have a cousin or 2 interested in possible trying to get with me  (not really… but I tried!).

I had a great time sitting with this smart, intellectual dude to chop it up and get his personal perspective of the barber in town!
