We’re recording early again this week, because Mike is taking another trip up north with his husband (or should I say his sister’s husband) who also just so happens to be his fishing buddy. We used this as a transition into a conversation about an Activist Athlete who refused to face the American flag during the National Anthem, as America celebrated her 3rd place finish in the hammer throw Olympic qualifiers. Gwen Berry will now be sent by America, as an ambassador of America, and will be given the freedom to ridicule the United States and its anthem, on the world stage. We closed the show out by throwing Biblical darts Theologies encouraging people to “Follow Their Hearts” while explaining why many of the top-selling Personal Growth and Christianity books aimed at defining and describing Christian Living for woman, fall flat when compared to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We ended the episode with an interview of a Christian brother, in Georgia, who is putting his life and his convictions on the line, as he makes efforts in his local county, to help people see the dangers of progressive efforts to indoctrinate our Children with neo-racist propaganda, under the guise of Critical Race Theory, Diversity and Inclusion and Equity training and many other labels. We used this example of neo-racism, to discuss the academic movement of civil rights scholars and activists called, Critical Race Theory and why Christians not only need to be aware, but also need to understand how this ideology is in direct conflict with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since it’s PRIDE month, and we don’t want to find ourselves on the outside looking in, we shifted our discussion to understanding both the glamorization and celebration of sin as well as what the whole idea of love is love really means. This was the perfect transition into our final topic of the show; namely Killing Sin. We looked at what it means to be active participants in our sanctification and the sad reality that many people simply don’t understand the joy and peace and hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We shared a story from NPR about President Barak Obama’s recent podcast appearance, where discusses what it means to be a man. This was a catapult into the discussion about the continued attacks, by progressive culture, on masculinity, manhood, the patriarchy and—in essence—God’s good design for Biblical Manhood in the world and in the church.
