In part 4 of "The Purpose Of Marriage" series, Duane Sheriff teaches the foundational truths of marriage and its importance in our culture. God is working to restore the sanctity of marriage within the Church, and we need to teach these values to our children, families, and churches. 

Marriage is God's divine institution that reflects His relationship with His people and is a picture of the gospel. Just as Eve was formed from Adam's rib while he slept, the Church was born from Christ's pierced side at the cross. This prophetic illustration is found in Ephesians 5:30-32: "For we are members of his body, his flesh, and his bones...This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church." Just as Adam and Eve became one in marriage, believers become one with Christ in salvation.
