Get ready for an honest, vulnerable and passionate conversation (f-bomb warning). I'm talking with fellow coach and bisexual woman, Isla McLachlan about bi-erasure, discrimination and prejudice. It's time to dispel some myths, challenge the stereotypes and kick the harmful misconceptions about bisexuals, outta the park! We also talk about bisexuality and how it relates to pansexual and fluid sexualities. Our conversation takes plenty of interesting twists and turns. It's very relatable to gay women and other LGBTQ+ sexualities and gender identities too. We explore what it's like to feel as though you're not gay enough for the queer community and not straight enough for the straight community, being a femme bisexual or lesbian, how the fear of discrimination has held us back and what it's like being on the receiving end of biphobia and homophobia. I really think you're going to find this one relatable, whether you're bi, gay, lesbian, queer or questioning. And if you're a straight ally this is going to help you to understand what it's really like living as a queer woman in 2020!

This is an emotional one people! 2020 is one hell of a year and one of the biggest things it's reinforcing for me is that we have to stand together in the fight against discrimination, prejudice and injustice. This episode has been created at a time when not only are we dealing with a global pandemic but we are protesting all around the world in response to the murder of George Floyd and many other black people in the USA. I stand in full support of the Black Lives Matter movement and I'm committed to ensuring my business is inclusive and I support and collaborate with more black owned businesses. I have anti-racism work to do...of that I am acutely aware. In this episode I talk about what Pride is and what it definitely is not and why it matters more now than ever that we continue to march and we continue to celebrate and we continue to fight for equality and freedom. I'd love to hear your Pride stories and anything else you want to share with me about the subjects I'm touching on. I'm learning all the time and always open to any thoughts on how I can do better, so don't hesitate to let me know. In the meantime take good care of each other. Big love to all my wonderful listeners and have a very happy Pride! Why do so many women come out later in life and why when they do, does it feel so right and yet so wrong, cue Katy Perry's hit song, I kissed a girl (and me singing it, I kid you not!). In this episode I dig into my personal experience of struggling with my sexuality through as well as drawing on the experiences and stories of the many women I’ve worked with and spoken to over the last few years. I share some of the biggest reasons we all struggle to fully love and accept our gayness and do some serious myth busting along the way. If you’re questioning or struggling with your sexuality right now then this episode aims to help you embrace your sexuality and feel more confident and self-empowered about who you truly are.

Join me on a whistle-stop tour through the colourful world of LGBTQ+ terminology. Do you get confused about what pronouns to use or what the latest labels and acronyms mean? You're not alone! If you want to feel better equipped to have more informed conversations and to more deeply appreciate the heteronormative and binary world we live in then this episode is going to unpick some of those topics. How do you support your children in the best possible way if they’re questioning their sexuality or gender identity, or coming out as queer? This episode is for parents and also for relatives, friends and allies too. I’m chatting with Megan (she/her) a teenage student from the UK, who identifies as pansexual. Megan is funny, clever, creative and so refreshing to talk to. I was left feeling inspired and excited about a future where we will have so many more influencial queer women changemakers, trailblazers and leaders in the world. Megan shares her personal experiences of coming out, living as a queer teenager and her views on LGBT inclusive education. She also gives us invaluable and powerful advice for parents of children questioning their sexuality or coming out as LGBTQ+. I urge you to listen to this one. I promise it will get you thinking and inspire you too! Links from the show: https://www.stonewall.org.uk https://www.theproudtrust.org

This episode is all about raising awareness of the specific challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community during lockdown, quarantine and self-isolation as a result of coronavirus and COVID-19.
I’m in conversation with fellow queer coach Isla McLachlan (she/her) where we share our own experiences as well as those of our communities. We talk about the importance of self-care and tuning into what we need more than ever right now and how we're personally navigating through this time. We also discuss being quarantined with a partner of the opposite sex when you know you're gay, going back 'in the closet' because you're in lockdown with people who don't understand or accept who you are and how to make missing your loved ones a little bit easier. So, if you’re not sure why it would be any different for an LGBTQ+ person or you’re one of us and you’re looking for a couple of people who get it, then this one's for you.
