Just remember, these are some ideas but it doesn’t mean these are the only ideas. We talk about some fundamentals around:
EQ
Compression
DeEssing
Limiting
We also went on to talk about adding space, movement and width with other effects…
Then we turn off my processing and talk through it while turning it back on…
Make sure you write down some of the settings to try out!

Getting creative with your Radio Imaging!
Radio Imaging is more than just words. Think about:
Layers
Inspiration
Don’t forget the message!
Think about your target market’s world, and incorporate.
Theatre of the mind.
How to write good – some rules:
Always write speaking directly to a singular person.
Try to never use questions which invite a listener to respond negatively.
Write in the language of the listener.
Sometimes the words are the creative bits.
Be concise.
Practice!

I’m passionate about Radio Imaging, but who am I and what’s the point?
Firstly a little about myself:
I am Chris Nicoll and I’ve been working in Radio Imaging since 2002.
Started at ZM in New Zealand in 2002.
Moved to UK and headed up Production at Capital FM and Capital XTRA from 2009-2016.
2016 I moved to work at IMGR a premiere production service.
All that while I have been working on my own projects via wizzFX.com with a small team of people.
So the idea behind this podcast is to:
Talk about the state of radio.
The problems we all face.
Provide education.
Discuss effective ideas.
Help brainstorm creative solutions.
Round up interesting and useful resources and audio worth checking out.
