The Rational Egoist with Michael Liebowitz: Exploring Objectivism, Broken Cultures, and Injustice

In this thought-provoking episode of "The Rational Egoist," host Michael Liebowitz engages in a captivating conversation with Nicholas Provenzo, an Objectivist and attorney, delving into topics such as Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism, the consequences of broken cultures, and the prevalence of injustice in society.

Nicholas shares his personal journey of discovering Objectivism after a drug legalisation debate, leading him to embrace it as a moral philosophy. He also recounts a tragic incident where he was asked to care for a four-year-old girl during the murder trial of her father, which was the result of a disgruntled employee's actions fostered by a culture of neglect.

They discuss how government failure and bureaucracy played a role in the tragedy. The conversation also touches upon the military jury's non-conviction of the murderer, raising questions about the substitution of personal opinions for the law. Amidst the somber narrative, Nicholas shares his inspiring decision to pursue a law degree and marry the widow, emphasising the importance of free will and choosing happiness over misery even in the face of adversity. Join Michael and Nicholas as they explore the principles of Objectivism and advocate for the right to pursue happiness.
