Leigha applies a background in physics and environmental science (UNC Asheville, 2010) to guide Deltec clients into building the best homes they can.  With experience as a physics researcher and an interpretive park ranger, she specializes in finding “the big within the small” and making green building concepts relevant to Deltec clients’ experiences in their homes.  

She began at Deltec homes ten years ago as an intern nearly right out of undergrad, crawling through people’s attics for energy audits and doing cost estimates for home performance upgrades.  Now she heads up Deltec Homes’ green building department and internal sustainability initiatives, including their certification as  B-corp in 2016.  

She also serves on the board of Asheville NC’s Green Built Alliance, a non-profit whose mission is to forward the environmental sustainability of the built environment in Western North Carolina.  She has worked with them to develop their new Green Built + Regenerative checklist, a local green building certification program.   She enjoys writing, rock climbing, hiking, and piano.
