The Rebellion

In his dystopian classic, 1984, George Orwell commented on the power of education by saying," [He] who controls the past controls the future; [and he] who controls the present controls the past." If you ever thought that today's Democrats don't understand that the front-line battle for the future of America is in America's schools, look no further than this week's headlines for proof that they, in fact, do.

It appears that “progressive believers” are so clouded by their politics and TDS that they can’t join in celebrating perhaps one of the most consequential calls to Christ in world history; it's time for them to check their souls.Piper discusses the amazing Kirk Memorial and the ridiculous reactions following.

Former President Barak Obama shared in a recent interview, since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, that the rhetoric in "his" Whitehouse was not as toxic as he claims Trump's is and thus it's Trump's fault for Charlie's death?`

Killing a man simply because you don't like what he says is debased and sick. Anyone not willing to condemn the murder of Charlie Kirk, without nuance, is equally evil. Those explaining away this horrendous act need look no further than their own mirror to see the ugly face that their worldview denies: Evil is real. It exists. It is in all of us. And as Charlie so frequently said, the solution is not more government or fewer guns. Salvation will never be found in ourselves. We all need a Savior!

Relativism in classrooms has left America's youths with opinions instead of wisdom, and entitlement instead of discipline

Piper circles back around to a theological debate that continues to show up in the comments to some of his online posts, and that is the concepts of God's Sovereignty and Free Will. These have been the teachings in Scripture that humble us to the magnificence and the mysteries of God, yet we are instructed to think and learn, with a reminder of coming to the discussion with a dose (or more) of humility!

In this episode, we discuss the recent article written by John Pavlovitz, a man who describes himself as “a writer, pastor, and activist from Wake Forest, North Carolina.” He posted an essay on Substack that was picked up by the establishment media and therefore went viral from coast to coast. It was titled, “No, Good People Don’t Still Support Him.”

In this episode, we discuss a recent essay written for the website Christ Over All by Will Spencer, who suggests that the answer to many of the tragedies we are seeing in the news every day is that Western culture is suffering the consequences of a crisis of fatherhood. There are many suggestions, but what's the best solution?

Dr. Piper interviews the CEO of Ratio Christi and author, Dr. Corey Miller, about his new book, The Progressive Miseducation of America: Confronting the Cultural Revolution from the Classroom to Your Community (available for preorder). Miller shares how he hopes to offer a warning and a call to action. Pointing a finger at higher education, Miller shares, "Higher education has become so thoroughly secularized that an alternative viewpoint is foreign, unwelcome, attacked, and often pushed out."

This past week, Piper posted a comment on Facebook from Amichai Chikl, Israel's Minister of Diaspora Affairs, whereby he said there is a growing concern among Israeli leaders that people in the West don't understand we are undergoing the same existential threat that his country is presently facing, but just in a much more subtle way. He was surprised by how some "conservative Christians" responded.
