Join us this week as we continue to unravel some of the distortions that Gnosticism has caused to our understanding of scripture, human nature, and the gospel.
Gnosticism is a philisophical and spiritual belief system which emerged alongside Christianity in the ancient near east. Based on Platonic Dualism (spirit good, matter bad), and salvation through attaining personal enlightenment through secret knowledge, gnosticism has drawn on biblical texts to legitimize itself from its inception. Join us this week as we look at some of the ways that gnosticism has crept in to the American church, and how gospel clarity keeps us from being tripped up by them.
As important as some doctrines may feel to us at times, it's important that we don't die on every hill. Join Brad and Michael this week as we discuss theological priorities according to the creeds and confessions.
When law and gospel are blended, we lose not only both the law and gospel, but the motivation for our obedience gets corrupted. We can find ourselves on a treadmill with seemingly no escape. Join us this week as we discuss the differences between legal, and gospel obedience.
The GRN Conference (general assembly) in Asheville NC was a fantastic time of true gospel fellowship. Brad and I got to meet for the first time, and we got to meet most of the other Reclamation guys in person. The fellowship was very authentic, and filled with joy. Come along with us this week as we debrief the week and talk about the real joy of real fellowship.
As much as we would love for the Christian life to be one of felt victory over sin, it is not. Join Brad Kafer and Michael Lewis as we have a frank and honest discussion about the saint/sinner reality, and how Paul points us to Christ in the midst of the struggle.
Far from being a New Testament convention, Law and gospel start in the garden with the fall and promise of a redeemer, and find their fulfillment in Christ. Join us this week as we discuss how the Old Testament is full of both Law and Gospel on this week's podcast.
Join us this week as we peel back the curtain and have a roundtable discussion with some of the pastors who are guiding the Reclamation podcast. Of course, we talk about Law and Gospel. This week's guest pastors: Timothy Baird, Jeffery Perry, Joshua Pangborn, and Jeremiah Hurt.
The distinction between Law and Gospel was not an invention of the Reformation, it was a teaching of the Apostles. Join us this week as we explore how we see Law and Gospel in Romans with special guest Erick Sorensen of 1517.
Motherhood is not for the faint of heart, and oftentimes in our churches, mothers can feel burdened instead of rested. Join us this week as we talk with Gretchen Ronnevik about how gospel, Christ centered ministry can be so helpful for hard working moms.
