Here is a recruiting tip for you, the prospective college student athlete: Try to get your high school and club coaches involved with your recruitment. Also, here is a message to the student-athlete and coaches; The student-athlete needs to bring a list of researched colleges and sit down with coaches to get their opinion on the level of play and on the colleges on the list. Coaches, many times, have a relationship and/or a knowledge about the college that can help. Don't take a coaches advice as gospel, but use it to help make your "right fit" college choice.

Today I highlight an X post from @SportsForceBB about their option on the new NCAA Scholarship and Team Roster rules starting in the 2025-2026 season of sports. This post talks mainly about college baseball, but the new rule will affect other sports and level of college sports and recruiting. You will get the 5 points that the @SportsForce BB post presents, plus you will get how the new NCAA rules change the number of scholarships and the number of players a team can support. Just because the number of scholarships is expanding, that does not mean every school will be able to fully-fund all the new scholarships. I came across 2 posts on X on social media that I will cover in this episode of The Athletic Scholarship Podcast. The 1st post was about the announcement that the National Letter of Intent will be eliminated by the NCAA Division I and Division II levels. I will give you the actual announcement and what the NLI was and how it might effect recruiting. More news on the changes will be covered on future episodes. The 2nd post I can across was from a Head Coach of a NAIA level baseball team. The post said the Head Coach just wants prospective student-athletes to contact him directly and not to pay someone else to sent a mass email. Listen in to hear some of the comments from that post and to hear my input.

I would challenge the athlete to research and understand as much as possible about what their college experience will be like. Also, I challenge them to try to find a fit and give themselves at least 2 years to their sport.
