I've gone international...
'What's the most iimpressive business you've set up?' Is something I get asked a lot.
But it's not a simple question to answer. Success means different things to different people and will vary greatly according to your business's aims. Understanding what makes your business a success requires you to know what you want out of it before you set it up.
In this Podcast, I look at some of the ways that you can define success in your startup. You can watch a video version of this podcast on my YouTube channel.

People often say, "You only get one life." And it's true, not setting yourself goals might be a bigger deal than you think - particularly if you are running your own recruitment business.
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Sam and Ben Miller of Topbillers Toolkit about how I used my experience of successfully growing my own recruitment businesses to help other recruiters set up… and, crucially, how to actually be happy in the process of doing it!
Apart from looking at how to make a lot of money along the way, we also discussed what the average recruiter needs to do to make their business a success, what it takes to build a profitable business that’s attractive to investors, and why, if you build it right, you probably won’t want to sell it anyway!

Everyone wants to scale their business. But can a recruitment business actually scale? Well, I'm not convinced it can in the traditional sense that, say, a software developer can.
Recruitment can be 100 miles an hour and the constant pressure to hit targets means it can be a very stressful industry.
Burnout is a big risk and, with the average tenure of a recruitment career being six years!
So, looking after your mental health as a recruiter is important for a long and happy career. In this video I offer some tips from my own experience with mental health and how to spot and mitigate your own signs of stress.

There are many things to consider before deciding if it’s the right time – there are the more obvious factors such as the economy, trends in your sector, even your personal support network. In this podcast where I look at some of these factors in more detail.
