Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore the strange and scary Dear David haunting.

On August 7, 2017, at 11:35am, Adam Ellis—at the time a web cartoonist for Buzzfeed—published a series of tweets that quickly went viral. In short, he claimed his apartment was being haunted by the ghost of a dead boy—and that the ghost was trying to kill him. And, if the story is true, it may just be the most compelling evidence of the paranormal ever recorded.

In this episode of The Red Treehouse, we’re going to explore the strange and scary “Dear David” haunting. Was a murderous ghost haunting Adam Ellis back in 2017?

Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore a strange and unique story--Polybius, dubbed "The Most Dangerous Arcade Game in the World."

The lore surrounding Polybius is the stuff of legends--literally. And, it includes the CIA, possible mind-control research, and Men in Black!

A shoutout to Red Treehouse listener Duanne Walton for the episode suggestion!

Does this game actually exist? Or is it nothing more than an urban legend?

Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore the terrifying case of Pazuzu Algarad--and the tragedies that unfolded at his hands.

The story of Pazuzu Algarad is truly wild and involves illicit drug use, his version of Satanism, a “to hell with everyone and everything” attitude, and murder. And it’s possible he may have been a serial killer.

Speculation aside, we know for certain he is responsible for the tragic deaths of at least two individuals, Joseph Wetzler and Tommy Dean Welch.

What compelled Pazuzu Algarad to commit these horrible crimes? And could they have been prevented?

Join me in The Red Treehouse as I read a terrific short horror story, The Yellow Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

First published in 1892, The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is a terrific short horror story that packs a powerful punch. The story involves a young woman suffering from is likely postpartum depression; except, her husband, John, confines her to the nursery of a colonial mansion to “cure her.” That’s all I’ll say for now.

Focusing on themes like mental illness, the subjugation of women in society and family, and liberation, The Yellow Wallpaper is sure to stick with you long after you read the last word.

So, sit back, turn down the lights, pull up the covers, and pay close attention as I read The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

Join me in The Red Treehouse as we explore a collection of scary--and true--Ouija Board stories!

Today’s episode is unique because it’s the first ever “story swap,” where I’ll narrate stories that were originally recorded on another show—in this case “Chillers & Thrillers,” one of my favorite spooky podcasts!

If you haven’t yet, be sure to give Chillers & Thrillers a follow/subscribe wherever you stream podcasts—host, M, is a terrific storyteller who will make you feel like you’re sitting around a campfire with good friends.

Do you have the nerves to play with a Ouija Board? And what would you do if you summoned something dark and malevolent?

Join me in The Red Treehouse as I read a terrific short horror story, The Voice in the Night, by William Hope Hodgson.

First published in 1907, The Voice in the Night by William Hope Hodgson, is a terrific short horror story that has been adapted several times over the past century-plus.

The story involves two boats, one with a small crew of sailors; the other, seemingly abandoned. A mysterious voice calls from the boat, asking for food; but, despite the sailor’s requests, refuses to come into the light.

Focusing on themes of corruption amidst the mysterious, and fear of the unknown, Hodgson’s tale can be read as a warning against betraying one’s morality in the face of mysterious circumstances. If you’re afraid of the dark, this story is guaranteed to keep you up at night!

So, sit back, turn down the lights, pull up the covers, and pay close attention as I read The Voice in the Night by William Hope Hodgson.
