Just listen.  This is a true story of when I was driving down to Arizona for my wife's baby shower.  I literally almost crapped myself.  It was a roller coaster. I tried a couple of different techniques to keep myself focused on driving so I didn't burst. 

My brother Brad goes into details about how he bought a gym.  He talks valuation, negotiation, and acquisition of the gym.  He talks about where to buy businesses, how to value them and how to get a good deal.  He talks about how to change the business model to grow revenue.

This was one of the most hilarious, random, and awesome podcasts I've done.  Rylee is a longtime friend and I was so glad we had this time to chat. He has an awesome perspective on constantly learning new skills and expressing himself through different mediums.  He has a really awesome relationship with nature and being outside.  We also talked about wanting to record moments with people that we love that we won't have around forever like our parents and grandparents.

My 98 year old grandpa has lived a very full life. He is driven for success and has a constant hunger for knowledge.  He still attends school at the University of Utah despite having his Phd.  He is an example.  He talks about his life and his accomplishments. He talks about what he misses most about my grandma who passed over ten years ago.  He talks about her last tender days before she died. He has outlived all of his friends and family.

We’ve learned a lot in two years and we’ve still got a lot to learn.  We’ve gotten so much closer.  We understand each other a lot more than we did when we first got married.  We both brought fear into the relationship without realizing it.  We had fears that the other one was trying to force us to live their lifestyle. Obviously we’ve still got a long way to go but year three is going to be our biggest one yet.

We’re constantly looking for shortcuts to success.  I’ve been looking for different tips and tricks and “secrets” to getting what I want.  The truth is, most of the time, we know exactly what we need to do.  There isn’t really a secret.  A better question to ask instead of “what do I need to do?” is “How do I get myself to do what I already know I should do?”  When we come at the problem from this perspective it is much easier to actually effect change.  We target ourselves and our own behavior rather than constantly looking externally for something that will be the magic wand.
