Sometimes organizations and people look like we have it all together, but behind the scenes we miss the point. This week we will look at what has been called a letter to “a dead church”. They were missing out on God’s best. How about you? Are you missing out on God’s best for your life?

In life there are things we simply put up with. We tolerate them. It may not be what we would have chosen, but it is what it is. Maybe we should ask ourselves whether or not, in our tolerance we are missing out on God’s best for our lives? We will explore that question this week.

As we begin our new series, You’ve Got Mail, we are looking at some of what Jesus said to churches at the end of the first century AD to see what we can learn. There is certainly practical advice to learn from as Jesus addressed the church in Ephesus, but is followed by a challenge. We’re looking at this challenge this weekend.

It can be easy to get caught up in the here and now. We become overwhelmed by what is happening to us in the immediate. Sometimes we even look at someone else’s life and get caught up in a snapshot or Instagram post of what their world is like. This isn’t a new phenomenon. John’s disciples experienced it too. We’re going to look this week at what Jesus had to say to them in the Parable of the Wine Skin.

God never intended you to go through life alone. We were created to be in relationship with others. This weekend we will look at why we need others and what we gain when we are connected to other people.
