When you hear the words “Conservative” or “Conservation” what do you think of? Do you think of Republican versus Democrat? Do you think of going green, electric cars, global warming or saving the planet? The unfortunate reality is these words can become divisive and often polarizing. Is this God’s desire for his people? Does he want us to be divided and antagonistic towards each other?

Throughout this series titled, “BATTLESHIP: because good relationships are worth fighting for” we have talked about different types of friendships and about our relationship with God. This week we will be looking at Marriage. Not married or looking to get married? That’s ok. There will be something for you as well.

Not all friendships are created equal. This weekend we are talking about the most important friendship a person can have and how it should change your life.

Many of us lead busy lives. We keep busy work, friends, school, volunteering, family, and so many other things that are fighting for our time. This busyness can put a strain on relationships. After all, there is only so much time. This week we will look at how to build healthy relationships with so many people and things fighting for our time and energy.

Who are the people you have in your life? Are they the right people? This is a big question requiring some serious discernment. Join us this weekend as we try to figure this out with help from Jesus in Matthew 7.

Our relationships have a significant impact on our lives. They have been part of shaping us into who we are today and who we will become in the future. If you want to know more about being a person who positively impacts others or about being in relationships that help you become who God intended you to be, join us this weekend.

Relationships can be hard. Friendships can be hard and sometimes people get hurt. When we understand we everyone isn’t a true friend and can better recognize healthy relationships, it gets easier. so what does true friendship look like? That is what we are talking about this weekend.

People are different. Some enjoy being around people. Others enjoy time alone with themselves. So do we really need relationships with other people or is it simply a personal preference? This week we are launching into our series of talks on relationships, healthy relationships. Let’s start by looking at whether we really do need to connect with other people…and why all relationships aren’t created equal.

As we continue to look at the Christmas story from different perspectives, we are going to be looking at it from the Inn Keeper’s point of view. What was he thinking as he sent Jesus’s parents to the Stable to give birth to a son? Do you think he, or anyone else, ever expected their Messiah, would be the child of a carpenter and his fiance?

We hear a lot about Jesus, Mary, Shepherds, and the Wise Men during the Christmas season, but what about Joseph, Jesus’ earthly dad. Can you imagine finding out your fiance is going to have a child and it isn’t yours? How would that make you look in the community? What would people say? Joseph was in a challenging position and there is a lot we can learn from how he responded. We’re going to do that this week.
