They say our story is "written in the stars." What if this is even more true than we know? Reading John's Prologue ("In the beginning was the Word...") through the lens of cultural astronomy helps us to see what it means to be human, what it means to be Christian, and how we might live for, and work toward, a world united by faith, hope, and love as we re-member our most ancient story.
"Just as God can’t be divided, neither can God’s grace and truth be divided. There isn’t a Hindu love versus Christian love. There is just love. There isn’t a Buddhist justice versus a Jewish justice. There is just justice. There isn’t an atheist generosity versus a believer generosity. There is simply generosity. All people come from the Light, and all people may testify to that Light. Our Hebrews reading says that the Son is the “reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being.” We may not all be the exact imprint, but we are all stamped in the image of God’s very being (Gen. 1:26-27). However imperfectly we may express it, we cannot help but do so. How wonderful is that? We cannot help but manifest something of God’s very being and life." - @judeaaronharmon
