We exit the shelter and try out a hot sauce from Coney Island Saucery that was made in partnership with the Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime. We also chat Beast Games - as in Mr. Beast - and a double dose of fraud! Elon Musk is busted for not actually being a good gamer and we’re shocked, they said sarcastically, and some dick bag scams a poor old woman out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by convincing her that she was dating Brad Pitt.

Episode 23 of Matt and Mike (and Melissa) Read Comics is a one-off from one of our favorite authors, Cullen Bunn. The Midnite Show. An homage to the midnight showing of horror movies of old, the story begins with legendary horror director Basil Saxon (best name ever) working on his magnum opus when a tragic fire destroys the production. The movie is, allegedly, never finished and lost to history. Until the present when what was thought to be lost footage has been found and is now being shown at a - you guessed it - midnight show! But the movie is cursed, and famed monsters of old start popping up in the real world and a group of civilians is stuck in the middle. Bodies drop EVERYWHERE. Just when you think you know who the main character, the hero, is - BOOM - fucking dead. Loved every panel of this book.

Flickin’ It with Matt and Will takes to the western sky with Wicked. But because Matt doesn’t give a shit, episode 124 of Flickin’ It is with Will and MELISSA. We all saw this movie together and Matt slept through a lot of it, but don’t worry, Will and Melissa were hugging and crying and screeching the entire time. Listen to Will and Melissa dig into the movie and get hyped for the sequel in 2025. Don’t worry, True Revuers, Matt will return in the next episode!

On episode 186 of Talking Tacos the boys enjoy the healthcare system. LULZ. Listen, all sympathies aside, this is good memery. Aside from the obvious healthcare related news, we have some fun chats about gun laws and the insanely obvious pardon of Hunter Biden. There’s drones in NJ and we try some hot sauces. Fun shit all around on a wild Tuesday!

Flickin’ It with Matt and Will once again tortures ourselves with a Sony Spider-Man property. Venom: The Last Dance caps off what is easily the best property of the Sony Spider-Man universe, but that’s not saying much. Despite the wonderful banter and heartwarming relationship between Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom, the haphazard and lazy storytelling of the entire trilogy has left much to be desired. This movie, however, does give us something that we didn’t know we needed, the Venom Avengers, and it was easily the coolest part of the movie. Only one Sony property left to go! But we’re sure Kraven will also suck.

On episode 185 of Talking Tacos the boys visit Loteria. Our old friends! We still got to hang the flag. Nachos and shrimp quesadilla still fuck. Bill gets obliterated by a Jersey Girl hot sauce and we talk about our usual shenanigans. Slide up to the table please!

Episode 22 of Matt and Mike (and Melissa) Read Comics dives into Joss Whedon’s run on Astonishing X-Men. On the heels of Grant Morrison’s bizarre, confusing, and often downright boring run on New X-Men, the camp and straightforward superhero storytelling of Joss Whedon was a true breath of fresh air. The classic yellow-and-blue themed suits are back. A new team is formed. A new villain arrives from another planet with a cryptic message about the power of a mutant destroying their homeworld. And on top of all of that, a “cure” for mutants. And…AND in a stroke of brilliant storytelling Whedon pulls off a move that has since been so reused that it almost feels stale, but when this book came out it was a truly remarkable comic moment - the return of Colossus. A character that had been dead in comics for years makes a stunning and cinematic return in Astonishing X-Men. Whedon and the late John Cassady craft one of the best X-Men storylines in the 21st century with Astonishing X-Men and you all should be reading this.

On episode 122 of Flickin’ It with Matt and Will we spend a night with Joker in what is, so far, one of the worst movies of the year. Seriously. There are few things redeeming about this batshit crazy “musical”. Normally we like batshit crazy, but this is crazy in all the wrong ways. Peaks and valleys in tonal shifts and absolutely no semblance of a plot aside from the protracted trial of Arthur Fleck. Brendan Gleeson as the hard-ass-but-sometimes-kinda-cool security guard? Did not see that coming. We truly think that Todd Philips and Joaquin Phoenix just said FUCK IT ALL when making this movie. Would not recommend.
