Talking Tacos Episode 178: The Boys Are Back by The Revue Podcast Network

Flickin’ It with Matt and Will is getting through the backlog with movies we’ve watched this summer. On episode 120 we go into some horror with Abigail, Longlegs, and Late Night with the Devil. All three movies fall into the category of horror, despite each being very unique. Starting with Abigail, this movie presented as a typical shock/jump scare horror movie that is all too common these days. What we actually got was a pleasant surprise of a horror movie where the victims are highly unlikable people who you still want to win. It also features a child actor that can gasp actually ACT! Longlegs is another win in a long string of amazing performances for Nicholas Cage. Absolutely creepy with a unique plot and a nice twist at the end, this movie will be sure to please. And Late Night With the Devil is an even more unique horror movie that is beautifully shot and acted. A perfect homage to the realism of late night tv shlock in the 70’s with incredible practical effects. Three incredible horror movies that you should all check out.

That's right we have THREE Leo birthdays in August here at the Revue Podcast Network. Matt, Melissa, and mom of the podcast all have birthdays in August within about 10 days of each other. We dive into lots of fun topics like the Raygun Olympics conspiracy and Corey Feldman's epically bad guitar playing. Apparently he's a real douche. As you can guess, we do lots of tequila shots.

Flickin’ It with Matt and Will is BACK! After a long globetrotting vacation, Will is back with Matt to discuss all things movies! We just got back from seeing Alien: Romulus and holy shit. It’s about time we got some good Alien content. We deserve it. We had high expectations, but this movie came out even higher. A perfect blend of horror and action with a healthy dose of lore and eye-catching PRACTICAL effects; this movie has it all. Our episode is FILLED with spoilers so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, don’t listen. Go see it first!

On episode 176 of Talking Tacos the boys go to the Olympics. It's that time of every-two-years again where we all have to pretend like we give a shit about the charade that is the Olympics. Let's all hold hands and celebrate unity through sport or whatever while secretly trying to start WWIII. Well, at least there is some seriously meme-worthy content this year like king dick pole vaulter and the breakdancing queen from Australia.

On episode 175 of Talking Tacos the boys make a declaration! No more hot sauces (from the crazy fringe side of the hot sauce community that is). Save for a few, ya'll are fucking nuts. Like, certifiable nuts, not "let's drink a million beers" nuts. We wanna get nuts, but not that nuts. Ya nuts. Let's keep Tuesdays Tuesday!

Episode 20 of Matt and Mike Read Comics is magical. We dive into the weird world created by Neil Gaiman in the Books of Magic. Taking place in the DC universe, The Books of Magic follows young Tim Hunter as he is approached by the Trenchcoat brigade and asked to make a decision; be involved in the world of magic or not. Tim can either become the greatest magician to ever live, or the most evil. The choice would be his and familiar faces like John Constantine and Mister E are there to help show him the possible ramifications of his decision. Very much in the voice of Nail Gaiman, and featuring some of his other classic characters, this book delivers a beautiful story about choice and the future. Special guest Melissa is back on the pod!!

On episode 174 of Talking Tacos the boys are robbed of a win. That’s right, we get back to talking about Formula 1 because Lando Norris (Matt’s boy) was absolutely robbed of a victory. By being forced by his team to slow down and let his teammate, Oscar Piastri, close a SIX SECOND gap in order to pass for the win, Lando was robbed of a victory that was rightfully his all because the team promised poor baby Oscar that he could get a win too. Bullshit. Also, Biden dropped out of the race, which nobody saw coming, he said sarcastically. Hot sauces and fun for all!

Episode 42 of Canon Fodder goes back to the 20th Century Fox Universe and takes a wild ride. WARNING!! WHOLE ASS SPOILERS AHEAD IN THIS POST AND THE EPISODE. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE YET TURN THIS SHIT OFF RIGHT NOW.

So. Welcome back to Canon Fodder. And you’ve seen Deadpool and Wolverine. And you are ready to talk about it. What we thought was going to be a pure X-Men movie that focused on bringing mutants more into the MCU actually turned out to be a beautiful farewell to the a semi-shared universe of 20th Century Fox and Sony. Bringing together characters like Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Daphne Keane’s X-23, and Channing Tatums NEVER BEFORE SEEN MOTHER FUCKING GAMBIT, this movie pays extreme fan service while also telling a great story that gives closure and sets the stage for more to come. The canon discussions are abound in the latest episode of Canon Fodder!

On episode 173 of Talking Tacos the boys get assassinated. You know what we’re talking about. You just come to the table for the news now. Dr. Ruth died. Richard Simmons died. Shannen Doherty died. Senator Bob shitbag Menendez found guilty on all counts. What a fucking WEEK it’s been. Plus we all almost die from Crumbly Kitchen’s Jeepers Reapers hot sauce. It’s a wild ride so make sure you strap up!
