I have yet to meet one person who is right all of the time. 

Chances are, you don't know that person either. 

If walk around thinking your mentor is always right, or your mentor is always right, you're about to get a wake-up call. 

We are humans. 

We're fallible. 

This has been happening since the beginning of time. 

We were designed to fail in order for us to learn. 

The thing you have to understand is you're not always right. 

Politics. 

Religion. 

Marriage. 

Your opinions on all of these things, they're not right. 

They might be right for you, but not for everyone else. 

A fool keeps a closed mind and thinks they're right all the time. 

Someone who is constantly learning and growing keeps their mind open knowing they are not the absolute authority on anything. 

Don't be a fool. 

Stay focused. 

Keep an open mind.

Here are the 3 steps: 

1. You gotta have discipline. This requires rules which are values.  Follow the values and live by the values.  We have a 3-strike rule in our organization amongst our employees and clients.

If you value being healthy, you have to make it a rule to go to the gym whether you want to or now. 

If you want to make more money, you have to have rules around the hours you'll work and what you're willing to do no matter what to close the deal. 

2.  Consistency is the second requirement to be successful. 

You can't just be disciplined for a day. 

You have to do the hard work every day. 

I'm a man of value because I consistently create content, post on social media, host podcasts, show up for my family. 

I can't do it once and expect it to last. 

I have to be perpetual. 

3. Commitment- you need this. 

It's required in life, in your marriage, and in your job. 

I'm a father and I'm committed to being the best father for life! 

If you want the 3 steps, these are it! 

Define what you want to be disciplined around. 

Then be consistent about what you're doing around your main focus. 

Finally, stay committed to what it is you say you want. 

That's how you become successful.

Everyone wants to do life on Easy Street, but the truth is nothing great happens there. 

There are people who are trying to live a magnificent life doing the easy stuff. 

They want to do the easy stuff and never touch the hard stuff. 

But here's what I know........

It's easy to not pay creditors. 

It's easy to say, "I'm going to go and buy some Gucci shoes." 

It's easy to say, "I'm not going to show up for my employees, my family, or my clients." 

But that's not where the big rewards are. 

If you want to do anything that matters, you have to do the hard things.  

When you do hard things, it makes you impenetrable. 

You gain more experience. 

The more you do, the more you learn. 

The more you learn, the more knowledge and practice you have. 

The harder things are, the bigger the problems that need to be solved, and you know what people pay for?  

Other people to solve hard problems for them.  

So, moving forward, think about this before you make a trip to easy street. 

Because the only way to get there is by doing the hard things.

The late Zig Ziglar said, "Motivation Fades." 

What he meant was, it's not enough to simply be motivated. 

It's real easy to be motivated, but motivation fades. 

There are times when you're not motivated to do something. 

There are times when you just don't "feel like it," but there's something important to know......

People who set agendas, goals, and missions and create a plan to accomplish them.....those people get paid. 

If you're going to have anything worth having in this life, you have to do the work necessary to power through the lulls and the circumstances of the Force of Average. 

It is a simple fact of life. 

Make time. 

Make it count. 

Create processes and systems and tasks that help you know the work to do that makes an impact, especially when motivation fades. 

It's not enough to simply be motivated. 

Assess where you want to be and make a plan. 

Missions that get made, get you paid.

If there is one message you should listen to this week, it's this one.......

When you want to quit, push harder. 

There are times in the gym where your mind will start playing tricks on you telling you that you can't do something.....push harder. 

There will be times in your relationships with family or loved ones where you'll want to write them off as a lost cause......don't quit; push harder. 

You may encounter challenges in work where someone has not completed something important for a client....push harder, and don't quit. 

Life is constantly testing you trying to force you to tap out and be a quitter. 

Skyscrapers weren't built by quitters. 

Gas-powered car and electric cars were not created by quitters. 

When it was time to go to the moon, specific plans were made, the rockets were built and humans made the trip, but they didn't quit.....they pushed harder. 

When it comes to getting things accomplished you really want to accomplish, you can't be a quitter. 

But what happens if you decide to push harder? 

Work longer? 

Eat healthier? 

You'll be in for a huge surprise. 

You'll get stronger. 

You'll be more focused. 

And you will not have a moment to make any excuses as to why you won't be able to get things done. 

One thing is for sure.....

If you quit, you'll never obtain what you set out to gain. 

Don't quit. 

Push harder. 

You've got 40% more in your gas tank!

If there's one thing I can give you as the parent to 4 children, DO NOT LIE TO THEM. 

Right now, you are competing for your children's attention.  

They have iPads, cell phones, TV, and the irritating brats of other people in school filling their heads with ideas. 

In order to maintain the flow of information, in and out of their minds, I tell them if they ever want to know something, come ask me.

I told them, "I'll never lie to you.  I'm your Dad."

If you don't need to know, then I'll tell you why, but if there's something you want to know, you're going to have to be prepared to live in the world after learning this information and be an adult. 

When you do this, you're preserving your relationship from despair, especially if they know they can trust you, but if they discover you lied to them, it's game over. 

Your children will be the hardest on you than ever. 

Tell them the truth. 

Always. 

Don't leave it out there to be interpreted or permit the rest of the world to control the narrative of what they believe to be true. 

This is one good way to keep your family unit in tact and on the same track!

In 2005, I was working in the Mortgage Industry. 

I had a big house, big pool, a big backyard, and a blonde girlfriend. 

I was making $700,000 a year making loans and flipping homes on the side. 

I was living the dream. 

But it wasn't my dream. 

It was a variation of someone else's dream. 

I only know this because of the whisper.  

We all get whispers from time to time.

You've got to really quit playing the blame game. 

When I was a kid, my father left me. 

My stepdad beat me and I ended up going to jail the 2nd time for the gun he gave me. 

My ex-wives lied, stole, and cheated on me. 

At the end of the day, it's all my responsibility! 

It would be easy to blame all of those people, but in all of those scenarios with those people, I was the center of all of that.

But the blame game doesn't bring you anywhere closer to your goal.

Your mission. 

The one true focus you have in your life. 

You have to take the responsibility for every single thing you do in your life and every single thing that happens to you. 

When you blame someone else, you miss the lessons. The wisdom. 

Wisdom is knowledge, power, and everything that comes with it. 

Don't steal from yourself. 

Don't steal from others. 

Putting the blame on them does just that. 

Stop playing the blame game. 

If you do, you'll stay the same.
