3:05pm- According to a report from The New York Post’s Miranda Devine, “Joe Biden’s presidential campaign prompted former acting CIA Director Mike Morell to ‘help Biden’ by organizing 50 colleagues to sign a letter in October 2020 falsely claiming that damning emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop published by The Post were Russian disinformation. 3:20pm- In a montage posted to Twitter consisting of clips from October 2022, news outlets like CNN, NBC, MSNBC, and CBS can be seen speculating that Hunter Biden’s emails were a byproduct of a “foreign intelligence operation” or “Russian disinformation.”
3:45pm- Twitter has removed its signature “blue-check mark” from verified celebrity accounts and now requires anyone who wants verification to pay an $8-per-month subscription fee. Disgusted by the new policy, Better Midler tweeted: “Elon took my blue check away! I’m unverified! After all these years and thousands of tweets and free content, this worm has the nerve to de-certify me!” Rich wonders, Bette Midler does not have $8-a-month?
4:05pm- ABC News Senior Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas reported that in response to allegations being made by an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblower who says that the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice is mishandling an investigation into Hunter Biden, Hunter Biden’s attorney accused the whistleblower of “committing a crime.”
4:10pm- While speaking with Bret Baier on Fox News, Attorney Mark Lyle—representing an IRS whistleblower—said that his client has no political agenda to push by coming forward.
4:15pm- The New York Post’s Miranda Devine told Fox News’ Stuart Varney that if the Joe Biden presidential campaign team pressured intelligence officials to sign a letter claiming Hunter Biden’s emails were Russian disinformation, then the now-acting Secretary of State Antony Blinken “intentionally planted false information about a foreign nation.” Devine notes that the United States is now involved in a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine.
4:20pm- According to a report from Sarah Fitzpatrick, Tom Winter, Ken Dilanian and Michael Kosnar of NBC News, “[f]ederal prosecutors have considered charging Hunter Biden with three tax crimes and a charge related to a gun purchase, said two sources familiar with the matter. 4:30pm- Daniel Turner—Founder & Executive Director of Power the Future—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) reintroducing their Green New Deal legislation. Turner also talks about his recent experience testifying on Capitol Hill where he compared the sudden push for exclusively green energy to communism—both movements completely ignore market forces. He concedes that the green movement may believe they have good intentions, but that many might argue “Mao’s economic intentions were also good.”
4:50pm- According to a report from Broad + Liberty’s Chief Investigative Reporter Todd Shepherd, in the first 16-weeks of 2023 there have been an outlandish 6,334 cars reported stolen in Philadelphia.
5:00pm- The Drive at 5: Is New York City declaring war on cheeseburgers? Noah Rothman—a Senior Writer at National Review & author of “The Rise of the New Puritans: Fighting Back Against Progressives’ War on Fun”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his recent article, “Yes, They’re Coming for Your Burgers.” Rothman writes, “[New York City Mayor Eric] Adam’s boosterism for a ‘plant-powered diet’ supplements his efforts to expand a program he inherited from former mayor Bill de Blasio, which is now designed to reduce the city’s carbon footprint by 33 percent in 2030 by cutting back on protein purchases. 6:05pm- On Thursday, the House of Representatives advanced legislation that would prevent biological males from competing in women’s sports. Ari Blaff of National Review writes, “[t]he House measure seeks to amend federal law so that ‘sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth,’ in order to determine Title IX athletics compliance.
