My heart is for my son to pray like Paul. I want my son to pray to give thanks; I want him to pray not only like God is with him but also as if God is for him and all of His people. I want him to pray like God can absolutely move mountains. Who is someone in your life that you could be an example of prayer for, as Paul is for us?

When we pray like Paul we can grow in our relationships with others. Pastor Josh Rhodes closes out the series When We Pray by looking to Paul's prayer, written from prison, for the people of Colossae. Praying in these three ways will help us grow with others.

Persistence is a difficult thing to learn. It goes right alongside patience. Anyone who has children knows how hard those lessons are. It is an internal battle. We don’t want to be patient; we want our answers now. We want to be in control, even if it’s just the timing, but we don’t even control that! So, that leaves us needing to be persistent in prayer and trusting in God’s timing.

Pastor Tim wraps up "The Parables of Jesus" with a message of perseverance in prayer. He encourages listeners not to lose faith even if God seems silent.

The primary purpose of the church is to be on a mission to seek those who are lost and lead them to salvation that is found by faith in Christ alone. When we lose sight of that and become an inward-facing group that meets together to listen and discuss everyone else’s need for Jesus, we become more like the Pharisees than the Son of Man, Jesus.
