Inspired by the #FilmStruck4 challenge floating around on Twitter, Alex and Liv dive deep into the early 2000s & beyond to discuss their tween/teen movie obsessions. A two-part conversation that will have you scrambling to the library to rent DVDs! Also a learn a little more about Liv and Alex and how they came to be the weirdos they are today.

This week, Liv & Alex saw “The Quiet Place” and strongly advise audiences not to eat popcorn during this movie. They’ll talk behind-the-scenes stories, the conversation around deaf actors in film, and share some creature theories. Then, Liv wants to fight “The Simpsons” after their weak-ass response to the Apu controversy and Alex reviews stand up sets from Mike Birbiglia and Chris Gethard. And in the Internet Junk Drawer, Alex shares a little known fact about “The Office” while Liv puts on her tin foil hat with some Janelle Monae gossip.

Listen as Alex and Liv chat mostly TV stuff this week. Liv talks Netflix teen dramedies “Everything Sucks,” “End of the F***cking World” and “On My Block.” Alex reviews “Barry,” “The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling” and movie “Don’t Think Twice.” The gals wonder if growing up *ahem* not rich *ahem* is the reason why they know more about classic television than other millennials.

Alex and Liv FINALLY watched ALL of “Atlanta.” Literally all of it. And surprise: it’s good. Like, really good. They discuss why surrealism is necessary to properly illustrate the black experience, and the challenges of being a woman and/or person of color trying to create content in the entertainment industry. Then, Alex recounts her magical and strange experience at the Chris Gethard Show, the king of alt comedy. Plus, an investigation into who the fuck bit Beyoncé.

This week, Liv and Alex get mindfucked by "Annihilation" disappointed by the end of a promising setup in "Godless," and laugh at dictatorship in "The Death of Stalin." Then, Alex takes us down a Pete Holmes rabbit hole and breaks down the beginner's comedy scene in NYC, and Liv weights in on Desus and Mero vs. DJ Envy.

*SPOILERS FOR “A WRINKLE IN TIME” AND “BLACK PANTHER”* Liv and Alex go in depth on the two box office titans by black directors, “A Wrinkle in Time” and “Black Panther.” They compare Ava Duvernay’s beautiful adaptation to the source material, talk about what the film meant to them, and wonder at the mere existence of Oprah. Then, they go in depth on the music in “Black Panther,” discuss whether or not Killmonger was right, and hope that Michael B. Jordan can’t sing.

The Oscar’s happened! Though nothing will top the clusterfuck that is “La La Land” vs. “Moonligh” last year, Liv and Alex break down the major categories, snubs, and winners. Alex’s stan Guillermo del Toro enjoyed a well-deserved evening, and Liv has nothing but respect for HER president, Jordan Peele. They also talk about inclusion riders, Michael B. Jordan’s Twitter, and mourn on behalf of the double nominated costume designer who not only lost the Oscar, but also a jet ski.

Alex and Liv are still riding that “Black Panther” high, but don’t worry, no spoilers this week. While they give everyone a chance to take a trip to Wakanda, they talk about going to Chris Rock’s “Tamborine” taping and John Mulaney’s “Kid Gorgeous” tour. Plus, Liv finally finished “Black Mirror” and is wondering what personhood is. Then Alex lightens things up by talking about how the new “Queer Eye” is transforming stereotypes and challenging social norms…wait a minute…

Liv and Alex have just returned from a life changing trip to Wakanda. Seriously, “Black Panther” was everything they wished for and MORE. After a night at Harlem’s famous Magic Johnson Theater with a group of 18 of their closest friends, they discuss their first impressions, the importance of ethnic diversity in big budget filmmaking, and the best ad libs from the theater. This past week, Alex fell deep into a Guillermo del Toro hole while Liv suffered from Wakanda turrets. They review “Pan’s Labyrinth,” David Letterman’s new Netflix series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” “Godless,” and a weirdly optimistic episode of “Black Mirror.” Plus, hear Margot Robbie’s husband’s mortifying account with President Barack Obama, and find out if Taylor Lautner is actually 1/64th Cherokee.
